Secretary General’s Message

Our vision at the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry is to be the ‘voice’ of young entrepreneurs. Beyond providing a col-laborative environment to enhance trade and commerce, we wish to provide the world a platform of experiential learning through so-cial and technological exchanges. Our Chamber is now in its fourth year and in this short span we have achieved commendable growth. Participation of delegates in our events establishes that we have given enough value to creation of wealth with social equity. Both aspects are necessary for a balanced growth of any nation. In the near future we are looking at some specific areas like Energy Secu-rity, Education, Human Resources, Digital Economy, Food Processing and Agri-business etc. Our efforts are to encourage extensive par-ticipation of young entrepreneurs. We are creating several interven-tions in the area of capacity building for MSMEs, as we see them as engine of inclusive growth. We aim to establish benchmarks in various areas and continuously work in the pursuit of excellence. To facilitate young entrepreneurs we have set up three Centers of Ex-cellence- Centre for MSMEs, Centre for Arbitration & Legal services, and Centre for CSR. We have decided to offer free advisory services to MSME sector through these Centers of Excellence. The free advi-sory services are also available to any business entrepreneur, com-ing from outside India. I invite our well-wishers and associates from BRICS and other friendly nations to be a part of this exciting journey towards a better world by encouraging entrepreneurs.

What is BRICS CCI?

Individual funding: Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) are leading emerging economies and political powers at the region-al and international level. The acronym was originally coined in 2001 to highlight the exceptional role of important emerging economies and the then acronym included Brazil, Russia, India and China (BRIC) only. It was pointed out that high growth rates, economic potential and demographic development were going to put BRIC further in a lead position and it was argued that their increased relevance should also be reflected in their in-corporation to the G7 (O’Neill 2011). The four countries them-selves started to meet as a group in 2006 and it was only in 2010 that South Africa was invited to join the group, which was then referred to as BRICS.Brazil, Russia, India, China and South

Africa have emerged as ‘the protagonists” in the world economysignificantly and rapidly. The BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a parent organization which promotes commerce and industry in the BRICS nations. The Chamber founded in 2012, with the efforts of eminent professionals and entrepreneurs is a not-for-profit and non-governmental organization. The objective of BRICS CCI is to create an enabling support system especially for MSME segment of business and young entrepreneurs from across all geographies.
