Maple Valley’s student of the week is junior Cody Seidlinger from Oriska. Cody is the son of Kim and Jerry Seidlinger. Cody is a very active member in Maple Valley High School and local community. He is a mem-ber of the school’s Students Against Drunk Driving chapter, as well as a member of the high school speech team. Cody has also played a major role in FCCLA for Maple Valley, and he is now serving as the chapter’s president. Along with being chapter president, Cody also is the district STAR event officer. He has partic-ipated in many FCCLA STAR events throughout his high school years. Outside of school organizations, Cody is an active member in the Valley City Troop 560 Boy Scouts. He is currently working on his Eagle Scout project. While Cody is not in school, he enjoys hunting and fish-ing, as well as hanging out with his friends and family. He also enjoys earning merit badges in Boy Scouts. Cody’s plans after graduating high school is to attend North Da-kota State College of Science in Wahpeton to pursue a career as an electrician. As Cody continues along his journey at Maple Valley, his résumé continues to build. He never shies away from help-ing other students or staff with tasks. He always gives his best effort toward school work.

Election of the North Soybean Coun-cil’s county representatives will takeplace in February 2019. In March,county representatives will selectmembers of the North Dakota Soy-bean Council. Nominations need tobe made so that names of candid-ates for County Representative of theabove-named county can be put onthe election ballot.On or about December 28, 2018, theNorth Dakota Soybean Council willmail a nomination form to soybeanproducers of record in the above-named county. For a nomination to beconsidered, nomination forms mustbe filed with the Extension Agent forthe above-named county. The formcan be hand delivered or mailed tothe Agent. For your nomination to beconsidered, the County ExtensionAgent must receive the completedform by January 11, 2019, or yourmailed-in form must be postmarkedno later than January 11, 2019. If youdo not receive a nomination form inthe mail, contact your County Exten-sion Agent or the North Dakota Soy-bean Council to obtain one.After nominations are reviewed andvalidated by the County ExtensionAgent, names of the nominees will besent to the North Dakota SoybeanCouncil. In February, the Council willmail to soybean producers of recordan election ballot with instructions forcompleting and submitting it. Com-pleted ballots must be post-markedby February 13, 2019.
