BLOCK 9 EXT.
Scope of WorkThe site includes the area immediately south of Block 8, currently
comprising Block 9, 9 Extension and Prideaux buildings. Block 9 and
9 Extension have fallen into dis-repair and are uninhabitable. There is
an urgent need to restore these buildings and secure a long-term use
to preserve these heritage assets.
The site is a special location, with views and close proximities to
London’s cultural landmarks and institutions, the site requires
a measured response to the sensitive setting. As the last major
development opportunity for the hospital site, there is a need to
optimise the footprint within the site available.
