EMERGENCY AWARENESS MEETING

An Emergency Awareness Meeting was held last

month on November 17 at the Community Center.

Approximately 35 community members attended

the meeting hosted by the Senior Organization

and led by Bob Hart, President. Many ideas and

suggestions were made. A few are shared in this

article and more will be shared in future editions.

If any community member gets displaced

from their home, temporary shelter will be provided at the Community Center, Brinnon

School, Fire Station, Brinnon Community

Church, and Camp Parsons

Brinnon School Offering FREE Class

WHAT: Microsoft Word Training and Certification

WHEN: First day of class January 7, 2016 6-8 PM

WHERE: School Library

WHY: Brinnon School is part of the Microsoft IT

Academy. As a way to give back to the community the

class will be offered free, broken into two sessions.

Soup and Supper Club DECEMBER 2015

EVERYONE IS WELCOME

It’s a great way to meet the locals or just enjoy some neighborly comradery. Come in

and relax to a bowl of homemade soup or join us for a family-style dinner. Soups are

served Monday and Friday starting at 11:00 am and run $1.50 ($2.50 for clam

chowder or soup and sandwich). Dinner is served each Wednesday evening starting at

5:00 pm and is a bargain at $4.00 — reservations required by Tuesday. For

The Brinnon School participated in the

food drive last month. Mrs. Johnston’s

class won the competition, earning a

special treat. Her class brought in 167

food items. A total of 301 items were

donated by the students and staff. A

STRAWBERRY ANGEL FOOD TRIFLE

One angle food cake

24 oz. container frozen strawberries,

sliced with sugar added, thawed

3 C sugar free vanilla pudding

16 oz. container of whipped cream,

slightly less than the whole container

Fresh strawberries for garnish

Tear cake into medium pieces. Layer cake, berries, pudding, and whip cream in

large clear glass bowl. Continue irregular

layers, filling the bowl. Top desert with

solid layer of whip cream. Slice a few strawberries for garnish. Refrigerate

overnight or at least 4 hours. You can

lighten up by using fresh strawberries and
