KLU and Your KDLA Account 

Kentucky Libraries Unbound

KLU is a group of Kentucky libraries that share electronic resources.  Kentucky Libraries Unbound is able to offer downloadable material through a company called Overdrive.  

Check with your supervisor and agency’s IT Dept. and their policy before using Kentucky Libraries Unbound on state owned equipment.  If you are downloading to a personal device, there are no restrictions.

Your KLU Account can be customized to your needs.

It’s as Easy As 1, 2, 3…

Step 1: Download the correct (free) app for your particular device.  Go to https://help.overdrive.com for an exhaustive list of all devices/platforms and the necessary app/software to be downloaded.  

Step 2: Sign‐in to KLU with your KDLA library account number and password through the app/software on your device.

Step 3: Search/Browse for titles to download and place them on your bookshelf for check out. Download when ready.

4G/3G, USB, and Wi‐Fi, Oh My!

Many devices are 4G/3G and/or Wi‐Fi capable.  If your device is, you will be able to download material directly to your device. 

Devices without Wi‐Fi or 4G/3G capability will need to be connected to your desktop computer or laptop via a USB cable for download. 

Wi‐Fi requires an internet connection and router.

4G/3G will require a monthly fee to a network provider, such as Verizon or AT&T, but can be used anywhere you can get a signal.
