The BTEC philosophy
BTECs are vocationally-relatedqualifications
• Designed with employers and professional groups to provide relevant work-related learning, allowing learners to progress towards a particular vocation, or further study
• As relevant to the local environment of the learner in London as in Bangkok, by allowing adaptation to local needs
• To match rigorous, internationally recognised standards, with innovative teaching techniques
• To use assessment as part of the learning process, and to reflect the real challenges of a vocation in assessment
• Develop knowledge, skills and understanding, so learners can not only discuss theory, but do in practice.
• Modular design to allow students to progress at their own speed, and from one level to another.
BTEC QualificationsWhat makes BTEC relevant to non-UK learners?
BTEC qualifications are offered in over 65 countries worldwide, across a variety of levels of sectors. BTECs achieve international relevance through:•Adaptability to local needs – assessment is set locally and local standards can be embedded•Flexibility – a wide range of mandatory units allows BTEC centres to choose the content that’s most relevant to them.•Customisation – through accreditation our Pearson’s SRF (Self-Regulated-Framework) many BTECs have been created specific to international environments•Can be delivered in local language, or English•Recognition from international employers and universities
