Energy efficient lighting solutions are one of the fastest ways to improve electricity consumption.

JEC is a leader in sourcing and installing high performance LED lighting. LED technology has rapidly advanced over the last few years and in Hong Kong JEC is the sole distributor of leading international LED brands such as Cooper Lighting, Calex, Carmanah, NeoBulb and RZB.

LED lights not only use less electricity but also produce less heat than traditional bulbs. Buildings save twice on energy costs and air-conditioning costs.

The EU has put a ban on the production of traditional incandescent light bulbs, because of their high energy consumption.

As a direct replacement for the incandescent light bulb, there are three main types of energy saving bulb:

• Energy Saving Halogen Lamps save 30% energy;

• Compact Fluorescent Lamps save 80% energy;

• LED bulbs save up to 90% energy.

Long Life

In terms of service life LED’s are truly advanced. Over 70% of LED’s intial light output is maintained after 50,000 hours of operation compared with typically 10,000 hours life for fluorescent lights. this reduces maintenace costs over the life cycle.

Based on 10 hours use per day, the RXD will last maintenance free for 13.7 years. a 2 x 26W compact fluorescent will last only 2.7 years before it fails, therefore requiring 5 lamp changes over the life of one RXD.

Energy Saving

We are all looking to reduce energy consumption in an effort to combat climate change and increasing energy costs. As lighting is one of the largest users of electricity in a typical building, efficiency improvements in our light sources will have a significant impact . The RXD now provides the solution.
