CMSFinancial Sustainability Key Learnings
The NDIA recently revised the NDIS price list The listhas been amended again today to adjust prices forgroupshybased community social and recreationalactivities The Price Guide is effective from 1 AugustServices in the trial sites will operate using both thenew and the old price list depending on if a participanthas had their plan revised You can look at the full priceguide online or download it from here

Individualised fundingThe end of block funding means you will have to rethinkyour entire business model and be prepared to work ina truly competitive market You will need to know whatyour service costs where to find customers and youneed to believe that you have something worth sellingThis belief can come from having a strong sense oforganisation purpose Organisational Purpose
Part of a speech by Professor Cynthia MontgomeryldquoThe Strategist shy Be the leader your business needsrdquowas shown to our first Strategy Marketing Qualitygroup and is a very useful tool for seeing yourcompanyrsquos purpose in a new light ProfessorMontgomery puts the emphasis on defining yourbusiness on the needs of the customer not on beatingthe competition

Last year consultant Michelle Dodd gave a greatpresentation on the 5 steps organisations can do to getNDIS ready You can find it here We summarise keypoints below 1) Make a Plan ndash donrsquot leave it to a miracleCreating and refining your purpose and strategy shouldbe a priority shy you need to know why you do what youdo and what is most important to your organisation
Operational Plan business development changemanagement quality improvementWork Plan ndash make sure that everyone involvedunderstands your plan
2) Talk to your ClientsIn order to retain your current client basecommunication is key ndash tell them what you know andencourage them to talk to you and to each other to findout what they are excited or worried aboutYou should also invest in them ndash help them to get readyfor the NDIS as well as yourself 3) Get VerifiedThis is a stepping stone to a quality management
