LED Upwash/Downwash Cabin Lighting

The cabin lighting utilises low-profile, surface-mounted LEDs to produce high-intensity white light that consumes minimal energy.

The bright and even light generated by the LEDs ensures that there are no dark areas within the aircraft. The LED lighting can be illuminated in various colour tones (warm/day/cool white). The cabin lighting can also be dimmed in steps with no dimming modules necessary, while, at the same time, the built-in constant current control devices eliminate the need for external control boxes. The easy-to-install cabin lighting emits very little heat and has low maintenance costs. The aesthetic design and performance of the lighting system is much improved in comparison with first-generation LED lighting and the lightweight design ensures that no unnecessary weight is added to the aircraft. Finally, the cabin lighting system consumes up to 30% less power than traditional fluorescent lighting systems.

LED Mood Lighting

Active colour management delivers a wide range of coloured light, from brilliant whites to over a million choices within the vibrant colour spectrum.

Create a lighting atmosphere that meets your needs with 16 preset colours and ready-to-use lighting modes. The LED Mood Lighting is fully dimmable, accentuates interior fabrics and stylings via the white colour programme, and eliminates streaking or colour reflections by mixing coloured LEDs within the light. The lighting features independently controlled light assemblies and can be customised to interface with your Cabin Management System or aircraft switching. The durable yet attractive design is complemented by robust electronics which support unstable power inputs. Integration with the Cabin Management System, which is facilitated by the simple system architecture, allows for the utilisation of the sunset and sunrise modes. As the lighting is powered directly by the aircraft’s power system, no additional power units are required.

Cabin Lighting – Replacing Cabin Neon Lighting with New LED Lighting System

The superior product quality of the lighting ensures a long lifespan and reduced inventory requirements, while the low heat emissions and no bulb breakages ensure the safety of passengers.

The lights provide consistent and accurate colours and can be customised with various lighting moods. The low weight of the lights ensure aircrafts remain environmentally friendly, as there is less fuel consumed and less waste.

RUAG Aviation successfully installs ICG eRouter on Global Express jet

Always connectedFollowing the successful installation of the new onboard eRouter, RUAG Aviation has delivered the aircraft to the customer and the service is already in operation. The project has been a complete success, with registered band-widths of above 800 kbps and data speeds of between 1.2 – 1.5 Mbps over dual channel Swift BB X-Stream with aggregation, managed by eRouter. This will allow users to enjoy YouTube streaming in real time, for example, or send messages via the Aerochat app in flight.

Responding to customers’ needsPrior to the eRouter, customers frequently experienced low bandwidths or had zero in-flight Internet access. The benefit of RUAG’s new service is that the eRouter can be installed in virtually all aircraft. Furthermore, RUAG eRouter modification is approved by the EASA, FAA and TCCA for the first time on Bombardier Global Express aircraft platform, meaning that customers around the globe stand to benefit from the cost-effective offering.

Localizer Performance with Vertical Guidance (LPV) Approach Capability

Land at more airports more often due to lower LPV minimums, which typically amount to between 200 and 300 ft.

LPV approaches already outnumber ILS approaches in the US, with the number of LPV approaches in Europe continuously increasing. Satellite-based vertical guidance to airports is not equipped with ILS, or it is out of service with ILS. The way in which the system works is similar to ILS approaches and there are no temperature restrictions. Enhanced satellite navigation is utilised during all phases of flight due to the use of Space Based Augmentation System (SBAS) signals (WAAS in the US, EGNOS in Europe). The LPV is not dependent on airport equipment.

Once the painting job is done you pretty much want to forget about it. Admire the look, perhaps, but not worry about whether it will last. That’s where the quality of our painting processes comes in.

Our maintenance-friendly approach includes applying special paint materials as well as using new sealant techniques and stainless steel screws. We use a separate painting process for access doors and screws. We also strip and polish frames and handle surroundings as needed. In addition, we do blank aluminium polishing. This focus on quality helps to avoid cracking in all critical areas. Easy maintenance of the aircraft for you is a top priority for us. We want you to enjoy the look and feel of your aircraft, without having to invest a lot of time and effort in keeping its good looks.

Awareness of our environmental footprint extends throughout the work we do. We use replacements for VOC solvents, along with chrome-free paint materials and energy-saving paint operations. Our pre-treatment processes are environmentally friendly, while our electrostatic equipment works with less than 15% overspray. We have developed and implemented approved base coat and clear coat systems. Moreover, our employees are trained and coached to be aware of the environmental impact of everything they do. We do this as a matter of course and conviction. Thinking green is not a lifestyle choice. It’s a core part of our operations.

Design & Colour Service

Your aircraft is like your business card. It should be well-designed and creative. And it should also leave a good first impression. You want your aircraft to be eye-catching, memorable, effective – what-ever your vision, we’re here to help you turn your creative impulse into reality.

We can provide you with coloured renderings, 2-D proposals, 3-D animations and technical drawings so you can have in advance a glimpse of what it will look like. If you want an understated look, a business feel, or something memorable, our specialists in consultancy and advice will meet to talk over the options with you. The materials we use include fading, photorealistic, metallic and mica-paints. Your aesthetic and business vision becomes our responsibility.

We run a complete shop with fine craftsmen and excellent workmanship. So whether you are looking for a small touch-up or a completely new exterior, our one-stop centre is the right place for your aircraft.

We can handle the tough work such as chemical stripping and abrasive paint removal. And we can follow that up with seal-work and painting while also adding any technical and mandatory markings. In addition, we can offer clear coat application and polytetrafluorethylen coating. Your aircraft is a high-tech piece of equipment. It deserves the attention and quality that we can give to it, not only the inside but on the exterior as well.

Polishing and Finishing Services

Polishing and high-gloss shine ensure longer-lasting brilliancy and increased value preservation.

Choosing to pay careful attention to the condition of the surface of your aircraft is not just an aesthetic choice but it makes practical and economic sense, as well. Flying takes its toll on surface finishes and paintworks. Different weather patterns, runway conditions, atmospheric abrasive elements and oil and fuel deposits can all leave their mark on your aircraft in the course of time. Residue and uneven surfaces can progressively worsen and may cause cleaning and corrosive issues. Our surface preparation and finish application services are available to enhance the protection and preservation of your investment. Matt surfaces are dramatically improved by expert polishing and residue resistant finishing. Select a light or deep polish and high-gloss coating on a regular basis and the paintwork will sustain its brilliancy and protect against corrosion. The improved appearance incurs no added weight but does boost protection, durability and prolonged market value.
