Essential Nutrients
An Essential Nutrient is something that the body needs in order to function.
As humans we require Water, Carbs, Proteins, Vitamins, Minerals, and Fats.
Fruits and Vegetables
Fruits and Vegetables add great nutrition to ones diet because they have many vitamins and fiber that our bodies need.
Why is MILK so good for us?
Milk is a good for us because milk provides protein, calcium, and vitamins that our bodies need. Calcium helps bone grow and protein helps muscles grow.

Different Types of Protein
Chicken, Steak, and Fish are great sources of protein to help with muscle growth and recovery.
Why do I have to take a multi vitamin?
Multi Vitamins are important because most of us do not get all the vitamins our body needs through out the day.
Vitamin A
Vitamin A is an essential vitamin that our body needs in order to help our eye sight reach its maximum potential.
Good source for vitamin A= Carrots, potatoes and spinach.
Vitamin B’s
Vitamin B plays a big role in helping metabolism, which means it helps your body function in the correct way helping with skin, hair and muscle tone.( b1,b2, b3,b4,b5,b6,b7,b9,b12)
Vitamin C
Great source of vitamin C is found in orange juice. Vitamin C is an essential nutrient to help fight disease/ virus as well as helps with cell function.
Vitamin D
Vitamin D gives our body the essential calcium to help make our bones grow. Milk as discussed in a previous slide is a great source of calcium.
Vitamin K
Vitamin K helps our Blood from clotting and helps our blood to move smoothly through out the body.
Carbs
Bread, Pasta, Wheat, Vegetables, fruits, and beans are all healthy sources of Carbs.
Water
Water in extremely important for our bodies to function. Water helps the body to stay hydrated as well as helps the immune system function properly.
Fats
Fats are essential because our bodies need fat to absorb vitamins.
Minerals
chromium, copper, fluoride, iodine, iron, manganese, molybdenum, selenium, zinc, chloride, potassium and sodium are all minerals the body needs.
