WHO OWNS ULURU?

The aborigines have inhabited Uluru for over 30,000 years. Their rock art there is meant to be for the spirits the aboriginals think are there. The spirits are there to protect the rock from any bad spirits that attack Uluru.

WHAT IS ULURU'S SIZE?

Uluru is 348 metres high, Rises 863 metres above sea level, is 3.6 km long , 1.9 km wide, 9.4 km around the base, and Covers 3.33 km2.

Uluru also has a 10 km walking track around the base.

WHAT ANIMALS INHABIT ULURU?

You will find lots of animals that live at Uluru, they include, snakes, birds, blue tongue lizards, and geckoes. Sometimes you might see a thorny devil. They might live in caves or trenches because Uluru has lots of them.

ROCK ART

The rock art that is on Uluru is to show there beliefs about the dreamtime. Some is said to be over 10,000 years old! The main thing they do is hand-prints because all the aborigines can all be blessed by the spirits that own Uluru.

1. a man called sir henry Ayres discovered Uluru in the year 1871. this is why its called Ayres rock as well as Uluru.
