BATTLE OF NORMANDY : WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHY

• US, Britain, and Canada against Germany at Normandy, June 6,1944 .

• Allies captured five beachheads : Juno, Sword, Gold, Utah, Omaha by nightfall.

• 2:42 A.M- soldiers off Utah beach.

• Allies got help from parachutists and mulberries(floating docks).

THE LEADERS

• Dwight D. Eisenhower led US.

• He sent 1,000 soldiers.

• Hitler was elsewhere.

• Churchill elsewhere , too.
