Turkey Is almost

the size of Texas

Red is a traditional Islamic color. .The color was used by the

Ottoman Empire. The empire fell in 1918. The crescent shape and

star are ancient symbols of Islam. They are considered to be signs of good luck. The color red is used a lot in Turkish history.

Cappadocia is a volcanic rock formation. It is found

in the Goreme National Park. A lot of people visit it.

Many years ago people began carving cave

dwellings into the volcanic rock. Now it is a neat

system of tunnels.
