HurricanesHurricanes

A hurricane is a tropical storm with winds that have reached a constant speed of 74 miles per hour or more. When a hurricane approaches, the sky gets dark, and the winds are extremely high! Hurricanes can last for months! These are not something that we can prevent. It is natural. A hurricane happens when the wind and temperature of the sea conflict.

Floods…Floods…Floods are common

in the United States. A flood happens

when there is too much water in a given amount of space. This is

usually because of lots and lots of rain

or storms in an area. Floods can damage

an area greatly. Many lives are also

lost due to flooding. There is no way to prevent flooding. There are ways to help the situation

though.

Droughts…Droughts…A drought occurs when there is not enough water! When this happens, crops could be damaged and farmers could loose lots of money. A drought is a result of an imbalanced amount of rainfall. We do not have control over how much rain there is. Droughts are natural.
