• Jimmy Carter was the thirty-ninth president of the united states of America.

• He served from 1977 to 1981.

• Was awarded Nobel peace prize in 2002.

• Created habitat for humanity with his wife Rosalynn smith.

• Was born on October 1, 1924 in Plains Georgia.

• Started working at his fathers store at the age of 10.

• Was a peanut farmer.

FAMILY

• Rosalyn Smith and Jimmy Carter got married in June of 1946.

• They had three boys and one girl.

• They had John William( July 3 1947-), James Earl(April 12 1950-), Donnell Jeffrey (August 18 1952-), and Amy Lynn( October 19 1967-).

PRESIDENTIAL CAREER

• Was elected 39th president of the united states.

• Served one term from 1977-1981.

• Brought Egypt and Israel to peace to deal with Camp David Accords.

• The SALT peace treaty negotiated between Soviet union (Russia) and U.S.A.

• Establishment of U.S. relations with the republic of China.

MID LIFE

• Graduated high school in 1941.

• Was the first person on his dads side to graduate high school.

• Carter then went onto Georgia Southwestern Junior College to study engineering.

• Joined the naval ROTC program to continue his engineering studies at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

• Flourished in his academics

• Joined U.S Navy in 1947 and was an engineer pilot.

CITIZENSHIP

• During Term he worked with governmental the education program to help give every student the same opportunity to make sure every student is equal.

• Won Nobel Peace Price in 2002 for being a humanitarian president and his efforts after his presidential term to help children and families in poor third world countries.

• Has created a pipe filter used to filter out gunk and mud to get clean drinking water. Jimmy and his helpers have sent out 13 million to Sudan to eradicate Guinea worm, there have gone from 3,500,000 cases in 26 countries to 126 cases in the world.

• Jimmy Carter is a great citizen in many ways. He has tried to make peace in this world, has helped poor families and children in third world countries, and has helped in many Charites and foundations to help those in need. Jimmy Carter is a great U.S citizen and is underappreciated for his great doings.
