Galilee Solicitors first law firm to complete a caveat throughPEXA in New South Wales
The first transaction by a law firm in New South Wales wasperformed by Galilee Solicitors who successfully lodged acaveat through PEXA on 12 November 2014.
“We’ve been operational with caveat functionality in Victoriasince June this year so it’s great to be able to extend thisoffering to the New South Wales market,” Property ExchangeAustralia Limited CEO Marcus Price said. “We’re very pleasedto welcome Galilee Solicitors to PEXA and we congratulatethem on being the first New South Wales transactor.”
For Galilee Solicitors, PEXA marks the beginning of a new erain the way property transactions will be managed:
“We are excited to be at the forefront of econveyancing and tohave taken part in the first full functionality transaction to belodged through PEXA. This is a significant and transformativedevelopment for our industry,” Galilee Managing Partner RalphGalilee said.
As well as caveats, for the very first time property lawyers andconveyancers can now complete property transfers, includinglodgement and financial settlement online through the PEXAsystem.
Select property lawyers and conveyancers in metropolitanSydney and Wollongong are the first to gain access to PEXA’snew functionality followed by a similar sample in metropolitanMelbourne, Geelong and Bendigo in December. The broaderNew South Wales and Victorian market will be invited to begintransacting on PEXA from February 2015 followed by theremaining states.
“We look forward to undertaking our first electronic propertytransfer through PEXA. We are delighted to be able to provideour clients, nationally, with the benefits of increased efficiencyand simplicity offered through financial settlements andelectronic registrations facilitated by the PEXA system,” Mr.Galilee said.
