　鼓聲+歡樂聲+粽葉飄香= 合家歡樂遍佈奧蘭多市摩西公園

第二屆中佛州端午節龍舟同樂日，六月三日星期六於奧蘭多市Moss

Park(摩西公園)內舉行。摩西公園距離奧蘭多國際機場大約二十分鐘車程，鄰近Bee-line及SR 417高速公路，公園內環境優美，面積廣大，郊遊設施齊備。今次活動由中佛州中美協會主辦；第一東方超市、佛州大眾報及亞洲風行雜誌聯合贊助；協辦機構有美國亞裔商會、中佛州大學亞裔學生會、漢翔基金、奇士美華人協會、奧蘭多專業人士協會及中佛州大學美國越南學生會。

　大會工作人員清晨八時便抵達現場佈置，中佛州大學亞裔學生協助，全體上下一心分工合作，有的準備登記事宜，有的負責食物，有的預備重點節目。十時開始大眾來賓陸續前來，現場立即為有興趣划龍舟的朋友登記組隊，預先訂票的大眾來賓早已組成三隊龍舟隊，海灘那邊的工作人員亦同時間安排兩艘龍舟落水。龍舟總長度為48尺，由佛州華人聯合會遠道從邁阿密運來。

　未到十二時已有近三百名大眾來賓及

工作人員在現場，大會安排端午節特餐給予所有來賓，包括秘製端午粽子、熱狗、巨型雞翼和西瓜。午膳過後，參賽者隨即分批往沙灘練習划龍舟，大部份健兒都缺乏划龍舟經驗，教練細心傳授有效速成技法，大家學習後都划得似模似樣。

　一時半正式開始龍舟友誼賽，四組家庭龍舟隊相繼比賽，船上混合大人跟小孩，健兒都穿上安全救生衣，湖邊有救生員當值，歡欣氣氛溢滿湖上。合家歡時段過後，繼續由四隊成人龍舟隊出場作賽，分別為奧蘭多專業人士協會、長青地產公司、韓國教會及中佛州亞裔大學生。由於大家都是首次划龍舟，技術相當，因此比賽結果很接近，最後長榮房地產隊險勝中佛州大學隊。由中佛州中美協會會長周曼宜頒贈獎牌給兩隊比賽健兒。

　全日活動在烈日和一片歡樂聲中結束，結算入場人次約四百人！中國人都相信習俗“遊

The 2nd Annual Dragon Boat Festival Picnic, organized by The Chinese American Association of Central Florida kicked off on June 3rd at Moss Park in Orlando. It was the first time that Asian organizations were invited to participate in the event. Spon-sors and volunteers included: 1st Oriental Supermarket, Asia Trend Magazine, Asian American Chamber of Commerce, Asian Student Association at UCF, Han Founda-tion, Kissimmee American Chinese Center, Orlando Chinese Professionals Associa-tion, The United Chinese News of Florida, Vietnamese Student Association at UCF, and Delta Phi Lambda Asian Sorority at UCF.

The festivities were filled with food, fun and friendly competition. About 400 people attended the event. Zong zi, the glutinous rice dumpling filled with pork and mung bean, (some variations include boiled egg yolk, dried shrimp, and boiled peanuts) were served during the event.

Some newcomers to the event came with an interest in Asian culture. Lieutenant Anthony Willis of the Orange Co.Fire Rescue and (team member of Evergreen Prop-erties) was recruited by fellow firefighter Pam Yen. He came out to the event with zeal and interest about the festival and Asian culture. First time attendee Lisa Kurcik and husband Jeff (member for Evergreen Properties) brought their adopted Chinese daughters to the event because they were interested in Chinese culture and wanted to “incorporate [their] children to learn about [Chinese] heritage”.

The United Chinese Association of Florida brought up two 48 feet dragon boats from Miami for the race. One boat can hold up to 22 members: 20 paddlers, one steerer and the most important person, the drummer who keeps the team synchro-nized (which I did for a miscellaneous team). This dragon boat race was 350m, while a regular race is 500m. Teams ranged from college students, a Korean church group, business professionals and children. Since most of them were rookies, they trained vigorously with a veteran dragon boat racer. After the prelims, teams UCF and Evergreen Properties competed for the win. The race was neck and neck, Team UCF chanted “U-C-F!” at every stroke yet Team Evergreen became champions. Overall, the teams worked well together and had fun.

劉何美蓮 Pauline Ho　劉何美蓮任職BALDWIN ACCOUNTING FIRM會計師。她畢業於香港理工大學主修會計科。從事會計行業近十五年，工作期間考獲美國密西根州大學商科碩士。居住澳州三年間曾於教堂作義務工作，積極參與及推動教會兒童教育。○三年舉家移居大奧蘭多市，兩名兒子現為中文學校學生。

Pauline with her husband, Stephen and her two sons, Hans (11) and Frank (9) mi-grated to Orlando, Florida in 2003 after a three-year stay in Sydney, Australia.

中美協會中華學校日前舉行結

業典禮，頒發各項優勝及學習優秀、全勤等獎項，並展示學生之學習

成果。數百師生及家長歡聚一堂，相當熱鬧。

　結業典禮由該校教務主任黃秀治主持，中美協會會長

周曼宜宣布迪士尼贊助該校一千元，由前迪士尼大使曾惠玲代表致贈；持續贊助的東方超市也受到表揚。接著舉行董事長移交典禮，董事長劉翠玉任期兩年，功成身退，由原家長會長林曼麗接任，家長會長則由張玉良接任。

　該校校長俞孟貞接著頒發感謝狀給中校近5 0 名教師，感謝他們熱心教學，以及頒發全勤獎、學習優勝獎、獎學金及字典等禮物給學生。

　頒給小朋友的獎盃設計精美，讓小朋友們愛不釋手。各班的優勝獎頒發給前四名，中文學

習23班，有19個班級依成績排名，各班之第一名名單：幼稚園注音班(甲)班李耀文，幼稚園拼音班(乙)班王凱毅、白杰希；一年級乙班邱大容；二年級甲班張建榮，乙班于愛麗絲；三年級甲班黃國威，三年級乙班張嘉欣、陸捷生；四年級甲班何慧敏；五年級甲班黃瑞真；六年級甲班林耕毅；雙語一班麥浩楓、雙語三班范筠怡；綜合中文二班黃瑞華、三班黃達偉；廣東班幼稚園黃祖兒，廣東一班劉博豐、二班劉博亨。

　獲得全勤獎的小朋友共計90名。畢業獎學金由今年將就讀佛州大學的兩位學生黎嘉偉、黃瑞華獲得。該獎鼓勵中文學習，凡高中四年中，有三年以上在中文學校就讀者，即頒發獎學金鼓勵。

　當天節目由小朋友們擔綱，都獲得熱

烈掌聲。劉霞老師指導的雜技舞蹈班，近來屢屢應邀在許多活動演出，頗獲好評，儼然已成為該中校的外交大使。節目由男生舞大旗的功夫表演做前導，引出轉碟及彩帶舞、彈跳、劈腿，動作都很專業。

　小班學生來自領養家庭或異國婚姻為多，近七成都是洋娃娃，他們有板有眼的演出，非常可愛。羅禮功夫班中不同年齡的小朋友展示拳腳功夫、刀劍長短武器，虎虎生風，俐落有勁。

　俞孟貞在活動中幾次感謝老師、家長和各界的鼓勵和支持，她表示學習語言永遠都不嫌晚，但是要有開始。

　她表示，目前該校以粵語、英語等不同語言的雙語教學，並教授注音、漢語

拼音，繁體、簡體。

　活動中，該校物理老師魯戴爾(Rudell)特別將學生平常活動和學習的照片，製作成幻燈片，在活動中播放，讓大家回味學習生活的點滴。詳情可電校長俞孟貞(407)977-1125或校務主任黃秀治(407)876-0652。
