ACADEMIC ISSUES • Importance of polytechnic mission and method • Lack of large classrooms • Uneven technology in classrooms • Poor quality instructional space in some buildings • Dispersion of faculty and programs • Lack of space for meeting with students • Lack of research space • Desire for flexible "start up" space for new areas of research • Need for neutral ground for faculty • Lack of a home for faculty within a college • Proximity to complementary programs is nice but not necessary • Consolidation is desired for convenience, collaboration, and identity

for improving student life and community on campus • Increase in student housing will require commensurate increase in on-
campus services • New suites are popular, campus largely feels safe, strong connection to the
landscape and history
