Tickets for all events are available online at csupomona.tix.com or at the Dr. Andrew G. Chong Box Office, #24-188, Monday thru Friday from 12-1pm and one hour before showtime. Artists and events are subject to change. The first events starting the Fall 2017 series are: Wednesday, October 11: Marco Cappelli, guitar & Ken FIliano, bass Contemporary, improv, New York downtown scene artists, Marco Cappelli, guitar, and Ken Filiano, bass, present a workshop/performance dedicated to the works of Thelonius Monk. Monk had a unique improvisational style and made numerous contributions to the standard jazz repertoire becoming the second most-recorded jazz composer after Duke Ellington. The event is free and open to the public at 1:00pm in the Music Recital Hall. For details visit https://www.facebook.com/events/1686200688065378/ Friday, October 13: Stuart Green Guitar Master Class & Recital The music department welcomes back Stuart Green, a classical guitar artist and teacher, who will present a master class at 4:00pm and an evening concert at 8 p.m. Both events are free and will be held in Bldg. 24, room 101. An active performer, Green enjoys a busy schedule both as a soloist and as a member of the Cabalo/Green Guitar Ensemble with Eric Cablo. For details visit https://www.facebook.com/events/112728156105866/ Wednesday, October 25: Charles Lindsley Memorial Vocal Scholarship Fund Raiser Each year the music department holds a memorial concert in honor of Charles Lindsley, a highly respected and widely loved faculty member for 22 years. The concert series was started in 1994 as a way of raising funds to award an annual scholarship to one outstanding CPP music student for their achievements within the department. The concert, at 8:00pm in the Music Recital Hall, will use “Around the World in 90 Minutes” as it’s unifying theme with music from around the globe.
