facing one of the main campus axes. The pubic space of this building stretches across the road to form a connection with the social space of the South Building. A smaller gallery that doubles as a lobby opens up toto this. The student lounge looks down on this space, partially screened by a semi-porous concrete wall to estab-lish a limited degree of separa-tion. The lounge also opens to the second level roof deck. minor axis runs through the

South building which is broken up by two staggered court-yards on opposite sides. The first courtyard serves as a social space with direct access to the lobby/gallery, roof deck, and the smaller theater. The secondsecond courtyard functions as more of a working courtyard, sunken into the ground to help contain the dust and projects that are made in it. The wood-shop, digital fabrication shop, sculpture studio, and book lab all radiate off of it.
