Faculty member, Denise Crider, was recognized for her dedication and service to veterans; • Congrats to Senior Riley Marion for be- ing named the Council for Drug-free Youth November Student of the Month; • Senior Jordyn Mays was Calvary’s first “Feature Athlete” sponsored by Haw- thorn Bank and featured in the News Tribune. Be sure to see the beautiful drawing of Jordyn by local artist Charlie Lindquist; • Christmas is in the air as you walk in and see our beautifully decorated auditorium in preparation for the fine arts concert next Friday, Dec. 13th; • Basketball is in full-swing with the Lady Lions competing in the Eugene Tournament and the boys teams com- peting at Columbia Independent; • Fun was had by all as our Family Groups shared lunch, fun, a devotion and competed in a “Can-Struction” canned food building contest. DISCOVER CALVARY DAY ndash Plans are underway for a Visit Day event for prospective students on the afternoon of January 23 This day is intended for 7th grade students to discover the advantages of a Lutheran high school education amp the many opportunities available at Calvary If you know a 7th (or 8th) grade student who would benefit from know-ing more about the Calvary experience contact John Christman or Renee Duenckel at 573-638-0228 to learn more

FINAL EXAM EXEMPTIONS ndash At Calvary students that have shown a level of excellence in attendance attitude and academics may qualify for exam exemptions This is a earned privilege If students have no more than two tardies no more than three absences and have earned a 90 or above in a class they may qualify to be exempt from the exam in that class Half of the exemptions earned can be redeemed (rounding up in the case of an odd number) allowing them to not take the final exams in the classes they choose to redeem exemptions for Exemptions may not be earned in classes being taken for college credit
