Page 1 ISSUE: 1/2 ~ January/February 2015 NEXT MEETING: Tuesday, February 24, 2015, 7pm Dear Members, Greetings to all! First I would like to extend my heart felt feelings of support for those of you who have had to face hardship over the past few months. Art has always been a source of renewal, and healing for most artists, so may your new creations bring you hope. On a happier note, the 2015 New Year has brought us many blessings. To name just a few, Pepe’s Restaurant has invited us to exhibit our artwork in their banquet room for an indefinite period of time. This is just a wonderful opportunity for us all! The sign-up sheet, and the details for exhibiting your work there, are available at our monthly meetings. Remember, you must be current with your CLAA dues in order to take advantage of this opportunity! Some of you may or may not know that we are actively working with Studio 395, to expand our opportunities as artists, and to gain exposure in the surrounding areas. We are currently working with them to obtain a Million Dollar NEA “Home Town Grant” to expand the presence of art within our communities. As we grow, and receive more opportunities to sell our work, it becomes even more important to stay current on our membership dues. Studio 395 is a very forward looking group of people, who have vision, and want to promote the arts to the fullest. We are so proud to be associated with them, and will do all we can to help them, and ourselves thrive. It saddens me to announce that Christy Bruce will be leaving us shortly. She has been a well-loved CLAA member for many years, and has served on the CLAA board many times during that time. Currently, Christy has been serving as “Publicity” board member, and we will miss the expertise work she has done for us in that capacity. Please join me in wishing her good luck in her new home, and much happiness with all of her artistic endeavors. I am happy to announce that Kristene Robertson will now be joining us to carry on as “Publicity” board member. I am sure she will be a wonderful addition to our board, and CLAA membership. Thank you Kristene for stepping up to this very important position and we look forward to your input, and creativity. “Publicity” is a very important position, as it inspires the community to be involved in what we do as artists. I look forward to all of our upcoming events, and thank you all for being active, and “SUPPORTIVE” members of CLAA!! Barbara Perryman CLAA President

FebruaryDemo Artist

I started my mural painting business in1988-1989 after working for a commercial conceptual artist for about a year and a half as a contract painter.I went from painting very large scale projects in Casinos, Restaurants etc. to primarily residences..I have enjoyed a very lengthy career here in the Inland Empire.. I have traveled for clients often to Northern California , Arizona, Montana, and even Hawaii...I still very much enjoy painting murals, however I am focusing on more canvas work.. I have started a small offshoot doing Pet Portraits, which seems to have taken off well for me.My more recent public work is above "The Wreck" a sports Bar in Lake Elsinore. A community funded project depicting members of our town, memorials to some who have passed on ,all within an Elsinore "Grand Prix" scene.I also recently completed a Brewery in San Diego called "Rip Current Brewery". I painted the entire Restaurant and bar with an Ocean /Beach theme. My work can also be seen at "Pints and Quarts" Restaurant in the Lake Elsinore Outlet Mall..On a personal note My husband , daughter and I live in Lake Elsinore in a 1929 Historic home that we have and are still improving upon. We love to ride motorcycles, snow ski, paddle board and hang out at our pool in the summer months. Come by and see the Community Mosaic by our pool anytime .Thank you Robin Golden

Robin recently completed this Lake Elsinore Grand Prix themed mural at the Wreck.

A private collection of Reza Sepahdari's artwork opened the 24th of January at the Seyhoun Gallery, 9007 Melrose Ave. West Hollywood, CA.

The artwork was inspired by the Persian poet and philosopher Rumi, who wrote about love and peace. It is truly a body of inspired work.

The show ran through February 6th.
