What is Work-Life Balance?
Work-life balance is to find effective ways where todays employee can strike a happy mediumbetween the office and home. Its about effective time and stress management in order to increase
productivity, decrease stress and have a happier life! For the past year we have doneresearchinto the
growing trend of Corporate Wellness Programs, and there is mounting evidence to suggest that Barbados is
leading the Caribbean in this regard. Coming out of this research, we came up with the idea to host the
Caribbean Work-Life Balance Conference and Exhibition,bringing together presenters and exhibits that will
speak to the themes of work-life balance, wellness, joy and happiness, all in an effort to improve personal
well-being and overall productivity.

DR. ALEXINE JACKMAN FAMILY PHYSICIAN | STRESS MANAGEMENT COACH
Dr. Alexine Jackman is a family physician and certified stress management coach offering personalized
stress management consultations and stress management workshops in Barbados. Following her
graduation from the School of Clinical Medicine and Research, UWI Cave Hill in 2008, she quickly realized
the huge impact of stress and stress-related illness on the Barbadian population. This inspired her to study
stress management. She has received certification from the Spencer Institute, California and herenthusiasm for this topic continues as she pursues training from the Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body
Medicine, in association with the Harvard Medical School Department of Continuing Education, Boston,
Massachusetts as well as further certification as a stress management consultant and fellow with the American Institute
of Health Care Professionals.
DR. ADRIAN LORDE - DYNAMIC SPEAKER | LECTURER| SPORTS MEDICINE EXPERT
Dr. Adrian Lorde B.Sc., M.B.B.S., M.Sc. - is a Family Physician and Associate Lecturer in Family
Medicine at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill. He
frequently gives lectures locally, regionally and internationally on Anti-doping, Sports Medicine and
Health and Wellness.
A pioneer in sports medicine in Barbados, Dr. Lorde was founding president of the Barbados Sports
Medicine Association in 1985. He serves as a director of the Barbados Olympic Association and wasa board member for fourteen years of the National Sports Council. He has travelled widely as Barbados Team Physician
at all major GamesCAC, Commonwealth, Pan Am and Olympic Games.
Presently the Doctor on Line on CBC Television weekly programme, Dr Lorde is the Medical Coordinator of the Barbados
Defense Force and Chief Medical Officer of Sagicor Life Inc. He is a life Member of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of
Barbados and the Barbados Cricket Association.
He is well known in the field of anti-doping locally, regionally and internationally. Dr. Lorde has been the chairman of the
National Anti-Doping Commission since 2000 and is the present chairman of the Caribbean Regional Anti-Doping
Organization. He has worked with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) as an Independent Observer at the Athens
Olympics 2004, Asian Games 2006 and Winter Paralympics in Vancouver in 2010.
Dr. Lorde is the Consulting Editor of the award winning Better Health Magazine of the Nation Publishing Company Ltd.
NORMA SHOREY-BRYAN - DYNAMIC SPEAKER | RESPECTED TRAINER| MBTI CONSULTANT
Norma Shorey-Bryan (M.Sc) is a dynamic presenter and trainer. As the Managing Director of Catalyst
Consultants, Normas passion is to help people develop positive ways of approaching their life, their
work and their relationships with others and to manage change effectively. Norma is a Certified
Management Consultant (CMC) and a qualified administrator of the Saville Consulting Wave
psychometric assessment, of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator, (MBTI). She integrates emotional
intelligence concepts throughout her training and development activities.Norma will be joined by Toney
Olton to deliver the exciting workshop Emotional Intelligence Gateway to Effectiveness with Self & Others.
TONEY OLTON - DYNAMIC SPEAKER | PERSONAL & LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANT
Toney Olton is a highly regarded personal and leadership development consultant, trainer and
coach. As the Managing Director of The Potter Centre, Toney is a certified associate trainer with Six
Seconds, a leading international EQ consultancy and advocate. Beyond his formal training with Six
Seconds, Toney has conducted his own research into the relationship between Emotional Intelligence
and biblical principles for personal effectiveness. His engaging style and depth of experience make for
a very stimulating and memorable learning experience. Toney will be joined by Norma Shorey-Brian to deliver the exciting

JUNE FOWLER
June Fowler has been involved in the business arena for more than 30 years as a Secretary,
Administrator, Entrepreneur, Office Manager and Assistant Corporate Secretary. She has worked
with an international accounting firm, an international bank, a local private training institution which
she co-owned, an international insurance company and more recently an international private bank.
June is also a trainer and has been involved in sharing knowledge and experiences in the corporate
and church communities. She is a Member of the Canadian Institute of Management (CIM), Certified Professional
Secretary, a Fellow Certified Administrative Manager and certified trainer.
She has held several positions at leadership level, namely, Deputy Chairman of the Transport Board, Vice-President and
Treasurer of the Small Business Association, Mentor with the Barbados Youth Business Trust and President and Treasurer
of the Barbados Association of Office Professionals. Vice-Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Bible Society in the
Eastern Caribbean and Member of the Poverty Eradication Committee - Ministry of Social Transformation.
June is the President of the Barbados Investors & Policyholders Alliance, Inc., Chair of the Board of Governors of the Bible
Society East Caribbean, a Trustee and the Programme Coordinator and a Facilitator of The Kings Daughter programme,
Women of Excellence & Empowerment Ministries and Team Leader of her churchs Community Outreach Committee.
In 2004 and 2005 June partnered with Family Heartbeat Ministries to coordinate the Family Fusion Programme and the
Abstinence Programme which ministered to groups of over 4,000 at the Garfield Sobers Gymnasium.
She has been married to Robert for 33 years and has two children, Tracy and David.

Cheryl Gittens M.Sc., MCC is a Caribbean Life Coaching pioneer, known for her fun yet insightful, no-
nonsense and soulful coaching style. Cheryl is the inspired author of Connect With Your Passion 2-CD Set
and Companion Workbook and the founder ofConnect With Your PassionLife Coaching. Cheryl walked
away from her dream job to bring her lifes journey to the world, answering her calling to help others
connect with their authentic selves, their passion and purpose. A graduate of the University of the West
IndiesHons (where she lectured and tutored in Management for 18 years) and the London School of
Economics, she is a dynamic Inspirational Speaker who has opened for the renowned Dr. Stephen Covey
of Seven Habits of Highly Effective People fame. Cheryl has spoken throughout the Caribbean and internationally as a
keynote speaker.

Cheryl speaks around the Caribbean for non-profits and company special occasion on Passion, Purpose, Authenticity,
Self-Mastery and Career & Entrepreneurial Transitions. She is a certified TVET Trainer, EDISC Personal Analysis Assessor,
Emotional Intelligence Facilitator, NLP Master Practitioner, Counselor and Master Life and Entrepreneur Coach.
Her many hobbies include reading, hiking, beach sports, swimming, singing, coaching, empowering teens, movies,
interior decorating, travelling and dining out.
IAN WALCOTT
Ian W. Walcott is currently the Partner Consultant and Lead Trainer of Global Expert Systems. Prior to this,
he spent five years at the USA based project management training and consultancy firm, the International
Institute for Learning where he worked in a number of management roles. He is the former Senior Business
Development Officer at the National Cultural Foundation where he designed, implemented and managed
Barbados Cultural Action Fund which provided project funding to the cultural industries. During this time,
he also served as one of the key authors and policy advisors of Barbados current cultural policy. He also
lectures in the discipline of Project Management and Business at the Cave Hill School of Business through
University of the West Indies.
A dynamic speaker and consultant trainer, Mr. Walcott has presented at conferences at several universities and seminars
across the globe. In the Caribbean he has given several high-energy and thought-provoking seminars on a number of
management related issues which range from project and event management, sales and customer relations management
as well as managing multi-generations in the workplace.
He is one of the founding members of the former Barbados Chapter of the Project Management Institute and was also
instrumental in conceptualizing the Caribbean & Latin American Conference on Project Management in 2001 and has
designed and managed similar events in the Caribbean and Brazil over the last ten years.
A former OAS research fellow in International Political Economy at the University of Brasilia, Brazil, Mr. Walcott also
spent two years in Japan specializing in Comparative Business & Management and has worked in the areas of marketing,
banking and finance in Barbados, Venezuela, Trinidad, Brazil, and the USA. His current research interests are InternetStudies, Project Management as Developmental Tool and Application to the Cultural Industries as well as Business
Analysis as Tool for Strategic Management.
