Best Buddies is a nonprofit organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Mission, Vision and Goal
ANTHONY K. SHRIVER, FOUNDER & CHAIRMAN
Created in 1989 to foster one-to-one friendships between people with and without intellectual disabilities.
Mr. Shriver first inspired his college peers to personally collaborate in expanding the realm of opportunities that persons with intellectual disabilities should experience.
Today, through Mr. Shriver's stewardship and entrepreneurial spirit, Best Buddies has grown into a leading nonprofit entity with increasing international reach across six continents; establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

BUDDY AMBASSADORS
Buddy Ambassadors are participants with intellectual
disabilities who earn their title through completion of a rigorous training curriculum provided by Buddies United In Leadership Development (BUILD).
BUILD is a Best Buddies program that enhances the lives of participants with intellectual disabilities by providing opportunities for leadership development and self advocacy.
The select group of Buddy Ambassadors highlighted exhibit excellence in articulating the Best Buddies mission and are featured presenters at Best Buddies International events.
