Welcome everyone to Term 2 Week 6. Absent notes Please remember if your child is absent — upon their return to school you need to provide a written explana-tion for their absence. This note needs to include the date your child was absent, a brief explanation for why they were away and a parent/ guardian signature. If a note has not been received within 7 days the absence is noted as unjustified. Please see our Attendance poli-cy attached to this newsletter. Zone Cross country Congratulations to our students who participated in the Cross Country Carnival on Wednesday. A special thanks to our parents and families who came along to support the students in their races. Book Fair Our annual book fair is up and running and is set to fin-ish on 7th June this year. If you would like to purchase anything, please see one of your friendly staff member who will be happy to help. P&C Update Our next meeting is being held on Thursday, 6th June at 8.30am – family and friends are all welcome to attend. 4-6 Excursion Our school excursion is getting closer. Please ensure you are making regular payments to Mrs Hobden.

Students all across NSW public schools will ‘crunch’ on fresh fruit and vege at 10am. P&C Meeting Due to our PLP meetings this week the time of the P&C Meeting has been moved to 8.30am. It will be held on Wednesday in Mrs Dowe and Mrs Pinn’s classroom. Easter Hat Parade A friendly reminder that we are holding our annual Easter Hat craft afternoon next Monday, 8th April. We hope you are able to come along and help the children with their creations. Our annual Easter Hat parade will be held on Wednes-day, 10th April. Our friends from the pre-school will also be joining us for the event. This will also be our end of term whole school assembly– we hope you are all able to join us. The parade and assembly will com-mence at 2pm.
Transition to Kindergarten for 2020 Our Early Starters program will commence on Thurs-day, 1st August. We have brochures at our front office for further information. If you know of anyone who has a child and may be interested, please ask them to contact Mrs Hobden in the office. Eisteddfod On Thursday, the students performed their musical items at the Eisteddfod. A massive effort was put in and we received second place for “Bugs and Beetles” and First Place for “When I Grow up”. “When I Grow Up” was choreographed by Camilla Hoddle. A massive thank you for all the time and effort you spent working with the students to receive such a wonderful out-come.

Cash Cows Our Cash Cows lunch on Wednesday will be sausage rolls. The children in the 2-6 class will be preparing the lunches on this day as part of our ‘Carroll Kids Kitchen’ program. If there are any parents who are available to assist on the day, please let Mrs Hobden in the front office know.
Whole School Assembly This Thursday we are holding a whole school assembly in the hall. The assembly will commence at 2.30pm. Please come along and celebrate the many achievements of our fabulous students. Small Schools Athletics Our Small Schools Athletics carnival is being held on Friday, 5th July. All parents and friends are welcome to attend. The carnival is being held at the Donnelly Playing fields in Gunnedah. SWOP IT Our school has joined Hunter New England Health initiative ‘SWOP IT’. Please find attached some SWOP IT tips that you may like to try in your children’s lunchboxes.

Cash Cows commenced on Wednesday 13th February 2019. The P & C have done the draw for the food donations based on our school rolls. Money is due to the P & C by Tuesday before the lunch is to be made. Here is a list of the names:
