• Anticipated closure of westbound overpass in February, 2015 • Casey Overpass anticipated to close fully by the end of March, 2015
• Major Steps Along the Way: • Place erosion control measures in advance of major work • Place tree protection • Clear site • Remove trees in temporary roadway areas • Construct eastbound & westbound temporary surface roadways • Implement temporary pedestrian routes • Build temporary Route 39 bus berth • Implement temporary parking conditions • Stripe and sign temporary roadways for Construction

• Standard work day: • 7:00AM – 7:30PM on weekdays • 7:00AM – 3:30PM on Saturdays
• No night work scheduled at present • When night work is needed, 2-week
advance notice will be provided by MassDOT

• Place temporary barrier for pedestrian access along Arborway frontage road

• Contractor develops a construction noise control plan adhering to day, evening, and night noise levels. • If noise levels exceed limits, contractor must
implement mitigation measures • MassDOT oversees construction to ensure
noise plan compliance

control plan for the life of the project • Air Quality:
• Retrofit of older diesel equipment with oxidation catalysts or diesel particulate filters
• 5 minute idling limit on all equipment

regulations • Trucks will operate over main roads in compliance
with City and State regulations

Winter Weather
• To be maintained throughout construction • Operations coordinated with MBTA to maintain
service • 8 possible weekend diversions of Orange Line
service in 2015 allowed by contract • 56 possible early shut-downs (9PM-4AM Thursday –
Sunday) in 2015 allowed by contract • All diversions of Orange Line service will be noticed
by the project and MBTA
• First 90 days: • Route 39 to temporary bus-way
Operations at Forest Hills Station
School Bus Operations • As of January 21st:
• BPS buses shifted to Hyde Park Avenue adjacent to lower bus-way with new signage implemented in coordination with Boston Public Schools
• As of January 23rd: • METCO buses shifted to surface roadway adjacent to West
Roxbury courthouse • No additional shifts required within first 90 days • Future shifts will be coordinated between BPS, METCO,
and MassDOT • Notifications will be distributed to parents via BPS or
METCO depending on the service used • Additional participation by transit police to ensure safety
• Baseline analysis already performed • Last year with school in session • Forest Hills neighborhood • Walk Hill/Bourne neighborhood • Stonybrook neighborhood • Arborway hillside & carriage road • Asticou/Martinwood/South Street

Cut-through Traffic
• Dedicated staff with DOT and contractor • Regular updates via:
• Public meetings • Next meeting early March 2015 (then every other month)
