1885The 1885 receiver frames and all internal parts are machined from solid steel, plate, bars and rod, in ac-cordance with original dimensions and modern machining practices. Receiver frame is heat-treated 8620 steel and intended for use with original rimmed cartridges.

The 1875 receiver frame is 8620 steel investment cast by Ruger, “Pine Tree Casting, Top Quality”. All in-ternal parts are machined from solid steel and heat treated. The 1875 is intended for use with original rimmed cartridges.

Barrels: For the BOSS GUN™ the No. 1 Heavy Tapered Octagon is standard. However, the standard weight barrel is available at no extra cost. Approximate weights—Standard Barrelled Rifles: 30" at 93⁄4 lbs., 32" at101⁄4 lbs, 34" at 103⁄4 lbs.; No. 1 Heavy with Hartford Col-lar: 30" at 12 lbs., 32" at 123⁄4 lbs., 34" at 131⁄2 lbs. The Presentation Cased Rifles, with reserved serial numbers 77-001 to 77-025 are Custom and individually built one at a time by master craftsmen and artists. They are in long-range calibers 44 & 45, with cases of 70 to 100 gr. (2 1/10” to 2 6/10”). Barrels, 32” or 34”, are cut-rifled & hand lapped tapered round with the traditional Rigby flat, machined as an integral part of the barrel, finished to a high grade satin fin-ish, engraved & accented with gold inlay & wire, and fitted with the windguage globe w/ apertures & spirit level. Receivers are machined from hot-rolled 8620 steel and are thoroughly inspected and heat-treated. After carborizing, they are stepped back to a French Grey to accent the engraving. Note: our Presentation Engraved & inlaid with gold wire, as shown; initials or monograms may be added. The model 1877 is fitted with the traditional single trigger and long-range vernier tang sight. Our walnut stocks are Presentation grade black and English (also called French) walnut, air-dried, with a full fill satin finish. The Presentation case of the finest quality oak and leather is in itself a classic, fitted to each rifle; also included are 2 custom turnscrews, one cleaning rod, one dust mop & oil bottle. The brass fittings include an engraved brass plate for personalizing with initials or monogram, as well as serial number. Please contact us for additional information. Description: As Shown30” tapered octagon standard weight barrel, semi fancy walnut pistol grip, cheek rest with accent line, forend with ebony nose cap, accent panels at receiver, double set triggers, pack-hardened color-cased receiver and smooth or checkered steel butt plate, Soule mid range vernier tang and globe with apps and spirit level sights by C. Sharps Arms. As described introductory price $4275.00 or $3775.00 without the sight package, plus excise tax and shipping. Other models will be available as a sporting rifle, long range Creedmoor and Schuetzen rifles, as well as a variety of options and calibers.

Custom Grade 1885 Highwalls are available in both the classic or sporting rifle styles. Custom target rifles are produced with the sporting rifle variations of barrel length & sight combinations to suit the particular style or range of target shooting to be done. Barrels: The standard weight barrel is the same as the original No. 3 Highwall barrel, up to 30” long. Our No. 1 heavy is the same as the original No. 4 Highwall barrel up to 34” long. Both are available in part octagon. Sights: All sights are optional; refer to sight page. Receivers: The standard receiver is the thick wall with octagon crown. The thick wall with round crown is available on request on custom rifles. Hand-Engraving: Grade II & III as shown will be standard patterns available on the classic and sporting, as well as target rifles. Other styles and patterns are also available to suit the customer. Gold wire and inlays are also available on custom rifles. Wood: American walnut and French walnut in grades up to exhibition are available @ an additional cost. Ebony nose caps are also available. Customer Quotes: For the customer who wishes to spec-out a custom rifle, you may send your specifications with a $50.00 quote fee, refundable if the rifle is ordered within 6 months. This C. Sharps Arms Custom Engraved Grade II 1885 Highwall Sporting rifle w/ single set trigger features fancy American walnut wood, pistol grip w/ silver inlay, cheek rest with accent line, forend with silver inlay in tip and hand-checkered. Barrel is a 30” standard weight tapered part octagon (No. 3 Winchester) Hand-Engraved: Grade II is a traditional Highwall pattern. Other game animals could replace the deer as shown. This pattern would include 3 initials on the lever for the personal touch. Sights would be additional.

Finish: The stocks would have a full fill satin oil finish. The barrel would be hand-polished to a high luster or satin finish, as desired. The butt plate and receiver group would be French grey to accent the engraving.

This C. Sharps Arms Custom Engraved Grade III Classic 1885 Sporting rifle w/ single set trigger features a 28” standard weight tapered part octagon barrel (No. 3 Winchester), C.S.A. New Ideal tang and silver blade front sights. Hand-Engraved Grade III is a traditional Highwall pattern (other game animals could replace the bear) as shown.
