7 Ziplines—Aerial Excursion TourThis tour was added in March 2013 and has been designed as a premier ziplining experience. The ziplines are long and fast, with amazing views throughout the course. 7 Ziplines cover a length of over 3,500 ft. You will cruise at an average speed of 25 mph, and end with a 40 ft. controlled descent. The Aerial Excursion Tour is limited to 8 persons per tour. Larger groups will be broken down into groups of 8 that begin the tour in 30-minute increments.

5 Ziplines and High Ropes—Challenge Adventure RUNThe Challenge Adventure Run combines the excitement of ziplining with the challenge of our high ropes course. Your adventure will start with the first zip into our high ropes challenge course where you will be faced with a combination of up to 9 high ropes challenge elements. After that, you will experience four more ziplines until you complete your tree top adventure.

2 Ziplines—Flying V RUNBuilt in November 2016 this is our newest high adrenaline zipline tour. With 2 ziplines designed in a “V” structure covering a length of over 590 ft. you will have great views of our pedal cart track and other zipline tours. Departing from our Activities Center observation deck you will cruise at an average speed of 25 mph. The return trip takes you to a 15 ft. platform 100 yards from our Activities Center.

2 Ziplines and High Ropes—High Ropes CourseOur high ropes course will help you conquer your fears while working through up to 9 different challenge elements such as climbing across a cargo net, balancing on the “wobbly log”, or swinging the “Monkey Vines”, all 35-45 ft. in the air.

Climbing Tower (Outdoor)

Our outdoor climbing tower is a 34 ft. climbing wall with four phases of difficulty. Overhead lights allow night climbing until 11:00 PM. Up to four persons can climb simultaneously.

Climbing Wall (Indoor)

Our indoor climbing tower is a 16 ft. climbing wall and can accommodate two people at a time.

Giant LadderThe giant ladder is a series of 5 rungs spaced 3-5 ft. apart. The ladder is free swinging which makes it a challenge to climb. Partners work together to get to the top of the ladder as quickly as possible. The higher you go the more you need to work together to reach the log on top. Try to get on top of the log for an extra challenge.

Giant SwingThe giant swing is exactly what it sounds like. You are secured in a harness and attached to a reinforced cable which is pulled into the air. Once you are released you will swing on a 35 ft. pendulum. You are sure to get a rush out of this adventure!

Pedal CartsFulfill your inner child on our off-road style pedal carts. Engineered to function like a classic go-cart, these sturdy vehicles are powered by your legs. As you pedal around our specially designed course, you will speed through our authentic Lancaster county replica covered bridge! The varying sized pedal carts are great for kids and those young at heart, making this a great outdoor adventure activity for all ages.

GPS Nature Hunt Take your group on a fun treasure hunt with our geocaching activity. Each group gets a GPS unit and a list of treasures. Race the clock to see which group can find all of the treasures first! We provide individual units for each group of 4.

ArcheryTest your accuracy on our archery target shooting course. Each station can have up to 6 participants shooting at one time.

Paintball Target Shooting Course

Test your shooting speed and accuracy as you navigate through a series of trails while shooting at different targets! Participants will not be shooting at each other, so this is a great way to experience the fun of using a paintball “marker” (i.e. gun) without having to worry about getting shot.

Sling ShotsTest your accuracy on our sling shot target shooting course. Each station can have 6 participants shooting at one time.

Nature Programs

TEAMWORKField GamesOur field games & activities will challenge your group’s thinking and teach them to work together while having fun. Your group will run through 3 – 4 games purposefully designed by your facilitator to match your group’s age and skills. Examples of these modified games are kickball, pickle, dodge-ball, etc...

Team BuildingOur team building problem solving challenges are specifically designed to help your group learn more about one another, as well as how to work together and serve each other. Scenarios will be presented to your group by our staff which the group must solve by working together. Each activity is designed to work well for groups of 10-20 people. For larger groups, you will be split into smaller teams to run through activities simultaneously in a rotation style format.

Team Building (Corporate)At Refreshing Mountain we believe the best learning comes by doing. Therefore, team building concepts are taught through interactive activities that engage your team and foster both real time learning and on-the-job application. We offer teambuilding challenges, outdoor adventures, and facilitated workshops that can be planned as individual activities or put together in half-day, full-day, or multi-day event packages. We will come to you—ask us about team building at your location.

Physical Challenge CourseOne of our most popular activities, the physical challenge course, combines physical activity with a scavenger hunt. Think you can find a black spider, run around the pond 3 times, do 600 push-ups, and build a 4 level pyramid? Maybe not by yourself, but if your team works together, we bet you can find a way to get everything accomplished before time runs out!

Nature StudiesReptiles and AmphibiansThis class teaches the differences between reptiles and amphibians, the important role they play in the environment, and the great diversity of these colorful, fascinating, and often times misunderstood creatures.

Pond and Stream LifeThis class is all about exploring our freshwater ecosystems! Students will learn about the animals that live in these habitats and will have the opportunity to collect small samples from our pond for an up close look at the aquatic invertebrates, frogs, and other life found there. Guidance will be given regarding conservation of the ecosystems, proper handling, and “catch and release” techniques.

PA WoodlandsThis class includes learning about Pennsylvania’s plant and animal life and how they work in concert with one another to create a healthy environment and why it is necessary to protect it. Participants will learn about bugs, mammals, birds, to identify edible vs. harmful plants within those habitats, and discover why many of these animals are threatened, endangered, or extinct.

Nature Center and Hands on Reptile TourWith 25+ species of reptiles and amphibians, our nature center provides groups with a lasting, memorable experience. Come see colorful exotic species like our Giant Day Geckos, Tree Frogs, and Chameleons along with native reptiles like our venomous Northern Copperhead. Your group will also have the opportunity to interact with many of these amazing creatures!

OrienteeringLeave your GPS and cell phones behind. Our orienteering activity will teach your team how to read a map and use a compass to follow directions. Use these tools to follow a series of clues that will lead you to your final destination!

Team Scavenger HuntOur staff will guide and instruct participants in this hands on nature activity. In this educational experience your group will explore the woods to identify and collect leaves, fruits, etc. This is a great activity for all ages to learn and work together!

Equestrian and Farm AnimalsFarm Animal Experience

This activity is specially designed to give your group a close-up and hands-on experience to explore some common (or not so common) domestic animals like horses, ponies, goats, and alpacas. Your group will learn about how to safely handle and interact with these animals and will have the opportunity to hold, pet, or feed them. Each session is guided by a qualified staff person.

Horse RidesThis activity is designed to give individuals an opportunity to go on a horseback ride as well as learn some of the basics of horse grooming and interaction. Participants will have a hands-on opportunity to brush a pony, learn general safety guidelines for interacting with large animals, and will be given a hand-led horse ride. This is a 45-50 minute session, ideal for ages 5-15 years old, max weight up to 250 lbs.*

Farm Animal Experience

MISCELLANEOUSCampfiresBring your group together around a campfire after a fun day of activities. We have a number of different sites available, depending on your group size. You can choose to set up your own campfire (you just need to purchase the wood for a nominal fee), or choose to have us do all the setup including wood, kindling, and starter fluid. You just have to drop a match!

Pool Parties (Private Use)Our large pool is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day (plus certain weekends in May and September). It has a 30 ft. waterslide, diving board, wet playground, and spacious decks for sunbathing. Please note that in order to promote a family atmosphere, we require modest swim attire. Limited times available. Mon-Sun: 7-9 PM or 9-11PM and Mon-Sat: 9-11 AM.
