“If the Lord does not build it, in vain do the builders labor…”

C C S . B V Since 2015, we have been hosting a small community belonging to the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter. This group consists mostly of converts from the Anglican tradition. They celebrate Mass at 5 PM on Sunday afternoons here at Holy Family according to a special form of the liturgy approved by the Vatican. Last year, they added weekday evening Masses at 5:30pm (Mon-Thu). Recently, their bishop replaced their pastor Fr. Vaughn Treco with Msgr. Jeffrey Steenson as administrator. We pray for Fr. Treco, the St. Bede community, and Msgr. Steenson during this time of transition. Their weekday evening Masses have been cancelled for the foreseeable future.

To all who voted, thanks for your support!

HERE AT HOLY FAMILY C D All married and engaged couples are invited to attend our Cana Dinner on Saturday, February 9th. This event, named after the place of Jesus' first public miracle during a wedding feast (Jn. 2: 1-12), is a special opportunity to celebrate your marriage in time for Valentine's Day! The evening includes the opportunity to go to the regular 5 PM Mass, followed by an elegant 4-course dinner in Fr. Moorman Hall (we will gather there around 6 PM), fellowship, and wise words by special guest speakers John and Mary Ann Kuharski. The cost is $70 per couple. Register and pay for your tickets at www.hfcmn.org/cana-dinner before it’s sold out or Tuesday, February 5th!

L S D S G — I N Many members of our parish are already part of weekly/monthly small groups in which they pray, study the faith, do service projects, or just socialize. The parish office would like to compile a list of these groups with a contact person for each one. This list would be used in order to occasionally suggest materials for your groups to consider for faith enrichment or to ask for your prayers for specific intentions for our parish. One of Fr. Joseph’s top priorities for this year is to foster a better sense of connectedness among our parishioners—we are a community of believers, a family of faith! As disciples of the Lord Jesus, we need each other’s support and accountability. In February, we will be encouraging all of our members to find a way to participate in a weekly small group for Lent. Please contact the parish office as soon as possible to let us know about your current small group or to express your interest in hosting a small group for Lent.

S F D A F S Please help enhance the beauty of our worship by sponsoring one or more floral arrangements ($50-$150 per arrangement) for upcoming solemnities and feasts. This is a great way to honor or remember loved ones or patron saints or to give a gift to our Lord! To sign up and donate, go to www.hfcmn.org, hover over the Get Involved tab and select Sponsor Altar Flowers. If you have questions, please contact Sharon Pero 952.999.4890 or [email protected].

F D S Donations brought in February 2nd and 3rd will go to the St. Louis Park Emergency Program (STEP) which serves our community. Non-perishable items will be collected in the entryway of church by the Adoration Chapel.

P S The Prayer Shawl Ministry strives to bring God’s love through the comfort and warmth of hand made shawls and lap robes. Do you know someone who would benefit from receiving one of these items? Perhaps he or she is undergoing a physical or emotional challenge. Perhaps he or she has experienced a personal loss. Perhaps he or she just needs a tangible reminder that there are people who care, and that God continuously wraps each and every one or us in His awesome love! To obtain a shawl or lap robe for someone, please call Sharon 952.999.4890.

H F B D Monday, February 25th, 2– 6 PM in Father Moorman Hall. Call Sarah at 651.332.7164 to sign up or schedule your appointment online at www.mbc.org/searchdrives and enter sponsor code 0183.

STEWARDSHIP CORNER U Ushering is one of the oldest lay ministries in the Catholic Church. During the time of Christ, the doorkeepers of the temple numbered in the hundreds and were the forerunners of today's ushers. The primary role of the usher is to provide hospitality and service, always conscious of Christ's words: "I was a stranger and you welcomed me." Specific duties include welcoming, seating and assisting parishioners before and during Mass as well as gift collection and general safety and security. Scheduling is flexible across Mass times and throughout the year. If you are interested in serving as an usher, please contact Dan Tomaschko for more details at [email protected].

M : A Y R A C ? Our communities need strong Catholic men to answer the call to lead with faith, protect our families, serve others and defend our values. For over one hundred years, Knights of Columbus have done exactly that, standing up for the Church, serving the least among us, and strengthening our parishes and families. Eligible Catholic men can now join the Knights of Columbus online in a simple, streamlined process. As a member, you join a worldwide community of nearly two million men, including 41,000 here in Minnesota who stand together. Men have a duty to lead, protect, serve and defend. The world needs more committed, unified Catholic men to answer the call. Will you answer? Visit www.kofc.org/joinus to learn more about the many benefits of membership in the Knights of Columbus or contact Tim Heeren via email at [email protected] or call 952.974.5270 for more information.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS

C A A Since 2001, Holy Family Catholic Adoption Agency of Minnesota has followed in the footsteps of St. Mother Teresa and offers loving answer to the tragedy of abortion. When any woman finds herself alone and pregnant with no means to care for her baby, she is faced with three choices. She can either parent the child, procure an abortion, or choose to place her baby up for adoption. Holy Family Catholic Adoption Agency provides the solution for the birth mom and baby. She can choose a Catholic married couple to nurture and raise her baby. The married couple welcomes the child into their hearts and their home. For more information go to: www.holyfamilyadoption.org or call Mary Ball 612.209.5869.
