DAY 1: THURSDAY, OCTOBER 6TH - DEPART USA (NEWARK, NJ OR JFK, NYC AIRPORTS)

We depart on an overnight �ight to Rome, Italy with dinner and breakfast served on the plane.

DAY 2: FRIDAY, OCTOBER 7TH - ROME TO ASSISI

Upon arrival in Rome, we pick up our luggage and board the private bus waiting to take us to Assisi. Our local tour host will be with us during the entire trip. En route we stop for a lunch break. We arrive in Assisi, settle into the hotel and have time to freshen up before the evening Mass at St. Mary of the Angels followed by a special Welcome Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Assisi. (Special dinner with wine)

DAY 3: SATURDAY, OCTOBER 8TH - ASSISI: THE CITY OF BIRDS AND SILENCE

Our morning starts with a visit to the papal basilica of St Francis of Assisi followed by Mass at one of the chapels in the Basilica. Enjoy a walking city tour of Assisi marveling at the beautiful sites and the ambiance of this lovely hilltop town. Visit the Church of St. Clare to see her tomb and the San Damiano to see the Cross which spoke to St. Francis. Also visit San Ru�no Church where St. Francis and St. Clare were baptized and the gallery of John Paul II. In the afternoon you have time to explore the art and the architecture of Assisi independently. Overnight in Assisi(B. Dinner at the hotel)

DAY 4: SUNDAY, OCTOBER 9TH - ROMANTIC TUSCANY AND SIENA

Early departure from the Umbrian town of Assisi to the Tuscan town of Siena. Upon arrival in Siena we celebrate a private Mass at Saint Francis Basilica in Siena, site of the Eucharistic Miracle. We explore the Basilica of St. Domenico, site of the relic of St. Catherine of Siena. See the famous Piazza del Campo, one of the most beautiful squares in all of Italy, where the famous Palio horse races take place and stop at the local wine museum. We depart for our hotel located in the heart of Tuscany where we enjoy dinner by the pool. Overnight in Tuscany.(B. Special dinner with wine)

DAY 5: MONDAY, OCTOBER 10TH - RENAISSANCE FLORENCE AND THE WALLED CITY OF SAN GIMIGNANO

This morning depart for the Renaissance city of Florence. We visit San Lorenzo food market where the entire city shops before Mass at Santa Maria Novella. We meander through the streets of Florence stopping to see the Duomo (Cathedral of St. Mary of the Flowers) outside view, Baptistry Doors, Signoria Square (the “open-air museum”) and Santa Croce with the tombs of Michelangelo, Galileo, and Rossini. The last stop will be the Academia Gallery to see Michelangelo’s world famous statue of David. In the afternoon enjoy leisure time to shop for gold on the Ponte Vecchio Bridge or visit the U�zi Gallery. Dinner tonight is in the beautiful square in the small castle town of San Gimignano. Return to your hotel in Tuscany for an overnight. (B. Special dinner with wine.)

DAY 6: TUESDAY, OCTOBER 11TH - ORVIETO EXPLORATION WITH LUNCH AND A WINE TASTING

This morning depart for Orvieto. En route we stop at a local farm to experience their way of life and see how they produce cheese and olive oil. Celebrate Mass at the Duomo of Orvieto which has one of the most beautiful facades in all of Italy. After Mass take a guided tour to see the church and learn about the Eucharistic Miracle of Corpus Christi. Also see the famous cycle of frescoes by Signorelli that inspired Michelangelo. Enjoy a late lunch in a wonderful local restaurant where we taste the famous wine from this region called Orvieto Classico before stopping at a local store to shop for pottery. Depart for Rome late in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight in Rome(B. Lunch with wine. Dinner at the hotel)

DAY 7: WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 12 TH - PAPAL AUDIENCE - CHRISTIAN ROME - PLENARY INDULGENCE FOR THE HOLY YEAR OF MERCY

Early this morning we make our way to the Vatican Square to attend the weekly Papal Audience. (pending the Holy Father’s schedule). Following time to shop for religious articles and lunch on your own we take a Christian Rome Tour, including St. Mary Major and St. John in Lateran, which is the o�cial Cathedral of Rome. Then see the Holy Steps climbed by Christ in Jerusalem. By special Papal proclamation, walk through the Holy Doors which will be open at the four major basilicas in Rome for the Holy Year of Mercy, one may receive Plenary Indulgence. Overnight in Rome. (B. Tonight we enjoy a casual pizza and pasta dinner at a local restaurant with wine)

DAY 8: THURSDAY, OCTOBER 13 TH - ST. PETER’S BASILICA – OPTIONAL VATICAN MUSEUM- EVENING WALKING TOUR OF ROMAN LANDMARKS

This morning, celebrate Mass at the altar of the Tomb of St. Peter at St. Peter’s Basilica (subject to con�rmation). Following Mass, enjoy a guided tour of St. Peter’s Basilica. Rest of the day is at leisure to take an optional Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel tour or to visit other famous Roman sites. Afternoon at leisure to explore Rome on your own. This evening your tour escort will lead a walking tour to see the famous Roman landmarks of the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and Piazza Navona. Overnight in Rome. (B. Dinner at leisure.)

DAY 9: FRIDAY, OCTOBER 14TH - DAY AT LEISURE TO EXPLORE ROME

Today is your day at leisure to explore the city on your own, take an optional full day excursion to Pompeii or choose to take an optional walking tour visiting the churches of Rome with Fr. Leo. You may also choose an optional tour exploring Ancient Rome which includes the Coliseum (inside visit), Capitol Hill, the Vittorio Emmanuel Monument, Roman Forum and Circus Maximus. (Twenty or more participants are required for optional tours) Overnight in Rome. (B. Dinner is at leisure.)

DAY 10: SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15TH - THE WINE AND VILLAGES OF FRASCATI

This morning we visit the colorful food market Campo, then we depart for St. Paul Outside the Walls where we celebrate Mass and see the nearby convent of Tre Fontane where St. Paul was beheaded. Our day ends with a scenic drive through the Frascati wine region outside of Rome to enjoy a wonderful farewell dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight Rome. (Special Farewell dinner with wine)

DAY 11: SUNDAY, OCTOBER 16TH - RETURN TO USA

This morning following breakfast we are transferred to the airport for the �ight home. (B)

AIRLINE SEATING AND SPECIAL REQUESTS: We do not reserve speci�c seats with the airline. You may change your seat at the airport prior to departure. Please let us know in writing any special dietary or travel requests you may need. Mileage program information can be added at airport prior to departure.

LAND ONLY COST: $3295.00 per person based on two people per room. Services begin and end at the hotel for land only passengers. SINGLE SUPPLEMENT: If you are rooming by yourself a single room is available for an additional $595.00. Please specify if you would like a single room or if you would like assistance with �nding a roommate. All e�orts will be made to pair up roommates, however this service is not gtd by SI.

BAGGAGE: Each participant is permitted to check (1) suitcase weighing no more than 50 lbs., and one small carry-on bag on the plane. Baggage fees charged by airlines are not included. Please check the speci�c airline baggage fees on their website.

TOUR CANCELLATION POLICY: Up to 90 days prior to departure a reservation fee of $250.00 is withheld. 90-60 days $500.00 is withheld. Within 60 days of departure all payments become non-refundable regardless of reason for cancellations. All cancellations must be in writing. Unused portions of the trip are not refundable. We strongly urge you to purchase Trip Cancellation/Travel Insurance at an additional $196.00 per person for Deluxe Coverage or the Cancel for Any Reason policy, which we recommend for $294.00 per person based on air and land rate of $3295.00.
