STANDARD AND SPECIAL HOUSINGSStandard and special units can be expensive to replace or, as is common in Australia, the OEM is no longer in business or the part is superseded. Long delivery times can also be an issue. Refurbishment is a very cost-effective option.

• Bearing seat bore diameter dimensions checked to ensure they are within bearing manufacturer’s tolerance, ovality and taper

• Based on degree of non-conformance bearing seats are re-machined, polished and finished

• Housings painted to CBC’s standard paint colours – Cast Iron (Grey), SG iron (Orange), Steel (Black). Special finishes available on request.

• Machined surfaces treated with rust preventative

• Purpose built crates/cases for long term or outside storage

• Refurbishment is cost-effective for units larger than 200mm shaft diameter

WHY REFURBISH BEARINGS?Refurbishment is a well established, reliable and cost effective method of extending bearing life.

• Less than 10% of bearings in heavy industrial applications reach their design life

• Correctly refurbished bearings provide a second or even third life cycle

• The cost of a refurbished bearing is up to 75% less than a replacement

• Turnaround time for refurbishment is around four to six weeks

A bearing may be repaired on site or sent to an authorised refurbishment facility, depending on the extent of the damage.
