Greetings from almost sunny Southern California where we are hopefully winding down our medical mission here. We are anxious to get back to the flock, our family, friends and of course our dogs, Chai Chai, Sarah and Tiny.

Murrieta Missions Conference God provided transportation for us to be able to attend 3 days of the 5 day annual Calvary Chapel Missions Conference with the theme of "Lights in the Darkness". There were many excellent teachers and a room full of hundreds of missions minded people including many missionaries. We saw many we knew and met many new friends. It was good to see so many people we haven't seen for some time.

Missions Kick-Off I was given the opportunity to speak at the Missions Kick-Off for 2013 summer teams. I shared about summer teams, encouraged participation in summer teams and gave my testimony of how I became a missionary, which began with a summer team. The meeting was attended by people going on teams this year, people wanting to go but not sure and people wondering where to go.

Medical Update The news on the medical front continues to be good. As of this moment, all discussion about amputating my left leg has changed to how long my leg will take to continue healing itself. Our target date for return is February 27th.

Taiwanese Sunday School We were blessed to share the Philippines with a class of Taiwanese children on January 20th. They were very attentive and asked great questions. Sheilani taught them action songs we use before I shared a video and made a presentation.

Arabic Pot Luck and Ministry On the afternoon and evening of the 20th we were blessed to be invited to a pot luck at the Arabic Ministry. I am a picky eater, so I was reluctant to go for fear I wouldn't like the food and might offend someone. To my pleasant surprise, everything was delicious and I cleaned my plate. In the evening I was blessed to share about our ministry in the Philippines. Our DVD would not play for some reason so we continued on with a verbal presentation followed by questions and answers. Each time I am home I am blessed to be invited to share with these wonderful people who pray for us continually.

Pioneer Clubs

Pastor Rudy gave us the opportunity

to share our ministry with about

100 teachers from Pioneer Clubs. I

shared an update on my health and

Sheilani shared an action song in

Cebuano. I was blessed to see so

many teachers still in the ministry

that I met many years ago and also

many new teachers dedicated to

teaching the children about Jesus.

At the end Pastor Rudy made us

Honorary Pioneer Club Teachers. We

thank the teachers for their

commitment and we are honored to be

honorary teachers with such a

wonderful group of people.

Calvary Chapel Downey Middle School We were given the honor of sharing at the Middle School Missions Chapel on the 19th. We showed our video, spoke of our ministry and encouraged the young people to have a heart for the lost.

More of California We continue to explore Southern California between doctor appointments and church commitments. In January we visited the J Paul Getty Museum and enjoyed the architecture, the gardens, the landscaping and some of the art. We hope to go back to finish seeing the art displays as we ran out of time. We had a good friend arrange for us to see Disneyland and California Adventure. We were able to ride on 5 rides, see 2 shows and 1 parade in 16 hours. So much to see and do in one day, we hope to go back with my grandson before we return home.
