Welcome to 'Celebrate the Season', a holiday choral concert pre­sented by the Oak Lawn Park District Cultural Arts Program. We sin­cerely hope to enjoy and appreciate the songs you are about to hear and the talent you are about to see. This evening's concert will feature our six Park District vocal groups plus a special appearance by the Oak Lawn Children's Choir, who are currently performing at the Chicago Theatre In 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat'. Karyn Carbray Karyn spends most. of her time either teaching or performing. After gradu­ating from Milikin University In 1988, Karyn came back to the town where

·she grew up to share her talents with The Chorale, The Entertainers, The Connection, Rhythm Express and many new voice students. Karyn recently graduated from Northwestern University with a Masters of Music Educa­tion with a Chorale Music Emphasis. She currently teaches at Prairie state College and will be teaching choral music ot Moraine Valley as well as the vocal jazz ensemble at College of DuPage in the Spring. Karyn has performed at-theme parks, for live industrial shows, with va rious bands and has been heard on a few jingles. Also a member of Back to Back, an a Capella vocal group, she has appeared on 'Johnny B ... . on the Loose' , and was a finalist in the -1991 National Harmony Sweepstakes, The past two winters she toured as a back-up singer for the 'Perry Como Holiday Show'. In Karyn's sixth year with the music program in Oak Lawn, she is proud to have directed The Oak Lawn Children 's Choir now performing in 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' . She is proud to have the opportunity to work with such wonderful and enthusiastic singers!

Peg Mooney If you are a patron of the local arts, then you might recognize Peg. Aside from her Park District work with Kids Spectacular, The Oak Lawn Summer Choir, Carollers and Jazz Singers, Special Edition, and the Oak Lawn Children's Choir, she has been the musical director for well over a dozen musicals, including Oklahoma, A Chorus Line, Guys and Dolls, 42nd street and Cabaret. Peg is currently Director of Music and general music teacher at St . Bernadette Parish in Evergreen Park, where she coordinated the music in last summer's lOoth Village Anniversary Celebration. In addition, Peg plays piano w ith local favorites 'The Outcast Jazz Band' , a 17 piece big band specializing in 40's era swing music . She enjoys directing her groups at the Park District, and looks forward to a long, productive stay with us!

Karen Dalton What Karen Dalton enjoys most about her career is the variety of musical aeras she works in . She is the director of music at Hope Lutheran Church in Park Forest where she plays the organ and di­rects the adult and handbell choirs. She teaches voice and piano at Thorton Fractional South High School in Lansing, sings with the Grant Park Symphony Choir in Chicago , and has taught Rennaissance and Baroque msuic history at Governor's State Uni­versity. She is always in demand as an accompanist, soloist, and vocal coach , has played for many musicals, and is musical director for the upcoming St. Linus Way Off Broadway production . This is her second year with the Oak Lawn Park District, and her first as direc­tor of the Quarter Notes. She loves the enthusiasm and talent of the children and looks forward to watching them continue and de-velop. · - ·
