CLASS NEWS

K Yellow Where has the term gone? K Yellow have been super busy and working exceptionally hard. We have successfully been growing living things in science, success in literacy has been shared by everyone and in maths we have been spending time outside linking our problems to things around us. NAIDOC day was Wednesday and all children had an enjoyable day. Our school performance for K-2 will be in the first week back. During the holidays I ask if you could find white clothing for the children to perform in that would be wonderful. It can be anything white, wedding dresses, onesies, jackets etc. I will have a small pile of clothing that can borrowed if anyone forgets. Enjoy the final week of term. I look forward to sending school reports home shortly. I hope you all have a safe and happy holiday. See you in Term 3.

K/1 Purple

Where has the term gone?! K/1 Purple has had a busy few weeks once again. Last week we celebrated NAIDOC Day and all the students had a great time. Next term, Early Stage 1 and Stage 1 will be presenting their ‘Imagination’ concert. We ask that all students please be dressed in white for this occasion. If this is an issue for anyone please contact me ASAP. The concert will be performed Week 1 on Thursday. We will also be having a dress rehearsal on Wednesday. So children will need to bring their white clothing on both Wednesday and Thursday. K/1 Purple will be performing ‘A Whole New World’. Students will need to bring in a beach towel or equivalent as a prop. If this is an issue for anyone please let me know ASAP. There will also be a small cost for the concert to cover the cost of other props. A note with more information will be sent out this week. Thank you to the parents who have been very kind and sent in more tissues and hand sanitiser! I’m hoping this will help stop the spread of germs and sickness in the room. I hope you all enjoy the holidays. Students return to school on Tuesday 19th July. Miss Clendinning

1 Blue This term has flown by. I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful holiday. I look forward to seeing you all next term. On Thursday the SCR will be holding a PJ Day. Students are asked to come in their favourite PJ's

with a gold coin donation. Due to the current weather, students are asked to wear appropriate footwear. K-2 will be hosting a concert on Thursday of Week 1, Term 3, centred around the theme of Imagination. Students are asked to bring a set of completely white clothes to perform in. There will be a small cost for each student to cover props needed in the final item. These will then be taken home by the students. If you have any questions please contact me.

2 Aqua Another term done and what a busy term we have had. Congratulations to all of 2 Aqua for your excellent performance at last week’s NAIDOC assembly. The feedback received was full of praise. Last Thursday all of year 2 visited a camel farm. Students were able to see a camel getting milked and had the chance to feed them. The students learned some interesting facts. Did you know a camel has three eye lids? We have been working hard on preparing for the "Imagination" concert that will be held Week One next term. All students will need to be dressed in white for this, please let me know if you are unable to find anything suitable. I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday. See you next term.

2 Lime As the term draws to a close, I would like to thank 2 Lime for their consistent effort and enthusiasm for learning this term. We have developed our reading and writing stamina which has lead to improvement in all learning areas. This week we will be busy practicing for the K-2 IMAGINATION concert in Week 1 next term. For the concert, students are encouraged to wear ALL white clothing. More details will be sent home soon about the concert but I hope lots of parents can come and see our talents. Early next term we will be participating in the public speaking competition. This week students will have an opportunity to deliver the speech they wrote for homework. We will also be practicing impromptu speeches next term. I encourage students to do some speech writing over the holidays. I will send home a list of topics on Friday. We had a fantastic time visiting the camel farm on Thursday. Many thanks goes to Michelle and Gabriella Phillips for hosting the excursion at their beautiful farm near Denman. Year 2 was very lucky to learn many new things about camels. Thank you to the parents who came along.

These holidays please make sure you keep reading. I hope you all have a wonderful rest and once again thank you for your efforts this term. Miss Faras

3/4 Red

What a fantastic second term 3/4 Red have had. I can’t believe that we are half way through the school year. Well done to all students who participated in our class performance on Friday, you sounded great. Please remember to wear your PJ’s and bring a gold coin on Thursday to support Canteen Cancer Council. I know I am looking forward to staying warm in my pyjamas. Wishing everybody a safe and warm holiday and I will see you all next term. Which I am sure will be as busy as the last two!

3/4 Green Term 2 has been the fastest term I have ever had as a teacher. Probably because it has been my last term at this wonderful school. 3/4 Green have been a fabulous class to teach and I will miss them a lot! Thank you to all the staff, parents and students for making me feel so welcome here at Aberdeen Public School. I have loved my three years here and have enjoyed working with the caring, quality teachers at this school. I hope you all have a fantastic break and that the students all have their speeches ready to perform next term.

4/5 Magenta It's hard to believe that this is the last newsletter for Term 2! We have received new quotes for our Stage 2 excursion and are waiting for the confirmation of dates. Please keep an eye out for notes heading home at the beginning of next term. Next term we will be working on an "Olympics" themed unit. As this event draws closer there is sure to be lots of information for students to collect, read and use. If you come across anything of interest during the holidays please encourage students to bring it to class when school resumes. I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday. Keep warm and enjoy the break.

5/6 Orange It’s the end of the term! Wow it has flown. Mr Davies and myself are very proud of some of the achievements of our students. Some reminders for the end of term: Science Fair Day on Wednesday. Please come and join us between 9 and 9:45. It will be fantastic! Students need to make sure they have all of their materials and are organised. There will be an impartial guest judge from a high school. Over the holidays it is important to read for at least 20 minutes a day. Have lots of rest because Term 3 will be even bigger!

6 Black Class News and Reminders: What a busy day today! The Science Fair is nearly all set up and ready to go first thing in the morning. Parents are asked to please visit the show between 9:15am and 10:00oam. Everyone is welcome for a look!

The 2nd payment for the upcoming Stage 3 excursion was due last Thursday. Please ensure that you keep payments up to date as seats on the bus are limited to those who have fully paid. Have a great break and please stay safe in the holidays! See you all next term.
