There are nice Jacarandas at the end of Jacaranda Avenue, Patonga; unfortunately it was a cold wet day when we went last year so
let us hope the weather is kind to us this year. Continuing this theme, we will enjoy painting the Jacaranda’s in a garden opposite
Pioneer Park at the end of Albany Street, Point Fredrick.
We start 2016 revisiting “old” favourites. The lake front along Wamberal Lagoon is one such spot; also the location behind the
Sea Scouts and the Sailing Club in Gosford. Others include the Boat shed at Phegan’s Bay and, the paper bark trees along the lake
front at the end of Tramway Road, North Avoca.
The location behind the Bowling Club in Burge Road, Woy Woy provides views up and down the Channel and across to Mt.
Pleasant, Saratoga. Just a reminder, it can be windy at MacMaster’s Beach Surf Club.
Whilst it is nice to revisit “old” favourite, suggestions for new locations are always appreciated.
Whether you are a novice or professional, if you haven’t been before do come along and join in with this friendly and relaxing
group. There is no starting or finishing time, come and go as you please, however we do stop for Morning tea is at 10am and
lunch at 12Noon.

With deep sadness we report the passing on 14th
November, of Roger Smith AM, at the wonderful age of 86. Roger, who was a
member of the AWI and a past President of the CCWS was highly respected across the Central Coast art world, and will be
greatly missed. It was his work during the Cyclone Tracey Emergency, in Darwin 1974, for which Roger was awarded the
AM. We extend our sincere sympathy and condolences to his family.

Overflow Exhibition Report
The Overflow Exhibition of work entered for the Gosford Art Prize has been displayed once again in the Imperial Centre, Gosford, thanks to Deborah Warwick. We had over 900 votes for the People’s Choice and the winner of the “Smithy’ Award, thanks to Rusty Wallace, was Jessica Switzer with the painting ‘Doyalson Fires’. Highly Commended went to Robert Cottam with his painting titled ‘Tiger Nebula’ and Commended went to John Chapman with a great photo titled ‘The Mirrors Don’t Lie’.
I would like to thank everyone who helped with the Exhibition throughout the week, especially the screen crew. Thanks, Judith Hoste, Exhibition Co-ordinator
Note: For the first time we used our new screens in public, they really enhanced the Exhibition and drew many favourable comments. Ed. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
