Software Estimations(SE)Use Case Points (UCP) is a software estimation technique

used to forecast the software size for software developmentprojects. UCP is used when the Unified ModelingLanguage (UML) and Rational Unified Process (RUP)methodologies are being used for the software design anddevelopment. The concept of UCP is based on therequirements for the system being written using use cases,

which is part of the UML set of modeling techniques. Thesoftware size (UCP) is calculated based on elements of the

system use cases with factoring to account for technicaland environmental considerations. The UCP for a projectcan then be used to calculate the estimated effort for aproject.



Software Risk Management

Risk management is the identification, assessment, andprioritization of risks (defined in ISO 31000 as the

effect of uncertainty on objectives, whether positive ornegative) followed by coordinated and economicalapplication of resources to minimize, monitor, andcontrol the probability and/or impact of unfortunateevents[1] or to maximize the realization ofopportunities

Supply Management software comprises all of thedifferent solutions which automate the source-to-

settle process and include Spend Analysis, eSourcing,Contracts, Supply Base Management, eProcurement,eCatalogs (for Supplier Enablement), and AccountsPayable or ePayables solutions. Software which helpsautomate the management of complex services likebusiness travel and temporary labor are also includedin this software segment



Software Implementation A product software implementation method is a blueprint to

get users and/or organizations running with a specificsoftware product.

The method is a set of rules and views to cope with the mostcommon issues that occur when implementing a softwareproduct: business alignment from the organizational viewand acceptance from human view.

The implementation of product software, as the final link inthe deployment chain of software production, is in a

financial perspective of a major issue.It is stated that the implementation of (product) software

consumes up to 1/3 of the budget of a software purchase(more than hardware and software requirements together)





Earned Value Analysis & Cost of QualityEarned value management is a project management technique for

measuring project performance and progress. It has the ability tocombine measurements of: Scope , Schedule and Costs

In a single integrated system, Earned Value Management is able toprovide accurate forecasts of project performance problems, which isan important contribution for project management.

Early EVM research showed that the areas of planning and control aresignificantly impacted by its use; and similarly, using the methodologyimproves both scope definition as well as the analysis of overall projectperformance. More recent research studies have shown that theprinciples of EVM are positive predictors of project success. Popularity

of EVM has grown significantly in recent years beyond governmentcontracting, in which sector its importance continues to rise (e.g.,recent new DFARS rules), in part because EVM can also surface in andhelp substantiate contract disputes.





Post Project Analysis

The Post Project Analysis document records the resultsof conducting a depth and breadth assessment of theproject from its inception (envisioning phase) tocompletion (deployment phase). This assessmentcaptures successes, challenges and failures, andidentifies what should have been done differently onthis project and what could be done differently for thenext project.



Software Project Planning Standards (SPPS) There have been several attempts to develop project management

standards, such as:HERMES method, Swiss general project management method, selected

for use in Luxembourg and international organizations.

The ISO standards ISO 9000, a family of standards for qualitymanagement systems, and the ISO 10006:2003, for Qualitymanagement systems and guidelines for quality management inprojects.
