NewD eUii, the 16th September, 2005G.S.R. 336 . In exercise of tlie powers conferred by clauses (b) and (c) of sub-section (2) of Section 27 of theRight to Information Act, 2005 (22 of 2005), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, nam ely:1. Sho rt title and com men cemen t (l)Theserulesm aybecallcdtlieR ightlo Information (Regulation of Fee and

Cost) Rules, 2005.(2) They shall come into force on the dale of their publication in the Official Gazelle.

2. Definitions In the rules, unless the contex t otherwise requires,(a) 'Ac t'm ean s tlie Right to Information Act,'2005;(b) 'sec tio n'm ean s section of the Act;(c) all otlier words and expressions used herein but not defined and defined in the Act sliall have the m eaningsassigned to them in the Act. , V3. A request for obtaiiiing inform ation und er sub-section (1) of Section 6 shall be accompanied by an applicationfee.of rupees ten "by way of cash against proper receipt or by demand draft Or bankers cheque payable \v the AccountsOfficer of the public authority.A . for providin g tlie information under sub-section (1) of Section 7, the fee shall be charged by way of cashagainst proper receipt or by demand draft or bankers cheque payable to tlie AccountsOfficer of the public authority at thefollowing r ates :(a) rupees two for each page (in. A-4 or A-3 size paper) created or copied;(b) actual charge or cost price of a copy in larger size paper;(c) actual cost or price for samples or mod els; and(d) for inspection of records, no fee for the first hour; and a fee of mjwes Jive for each fificcn minutes (or fracl ionthereof) thereafter.5. For providing tlie information under sub-section (5) of Section 7. the fee shall be charged by way of cashagainst proper receipt or by deman d d raft or bankers, cheque payable to the Accounts Officer of the public authority at the

following rates : .(a) for information provided in diskette or floppy rupeesfiftyper diskette or floppy; and(b) for information provided in printed form al the pricefixedfor such publication or nipees 1 wo pe r page oiphotocopy for extracts from tlie publication.

In exercise of the powers conferred by clauses (b) an d^ c) of S ub-section (2) "of Section 27of the Right to Information Act, 200 5 (22 of 2005), the C entral Government hereby makes th e following rules to am endthe Right to Information (Re gulation of Fee and C ost) Rules, 2005, namely :

1. Short title and commencement (1) These rules may be called the Right to Information (Regulation of Feeand C ost) (Amendment) Rules, 2005 .(2) They sha ll come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2 . In the R ight to Information (Regulation of Fee and C ost) Rules, 2005 , in rule 4, for clause (d), the followingclause shall be substituted, namely :

"(d) for inspection of records, no fee for the first hour; and a fee of rupees five for each subsequenthour (or fraction thereof)."[F. No. 34012/8(Sy20O5-EstL (B)]
