His last Corporate Assignment was as Chief Executive Officer with the leading Indian Internet Job Portal JobsAhead.com. He was instrumental in engineering a successful turnaround strategy, which enabled a takeover by Monster.com the World’s largest Job Portal.

Post leading a successful integration, between the two companies, Rajiv moved on in February 2005 into the role of a practitioner in the areas of Sales, Marketing, HR, Organisation Development and Business Strategy Formulations and Manufacturing Excellence and is associated closely with diverse industries both in Service and Manufacturing Sectors. He was instrumental in changing the direction of the company from generic software services to focus on VAS solutions for the telecom industry. Comviva was one of the first companies to realize the value of emerging markets, and started addressing the markets of India, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. This was a highly successful strategy with these markets exhibiting rapid growth to drive over subscriber uptake in the global mobile industry.

Having effected a turn-around, Comviva was able to attract significant VC interest, and Sequoia and Cisco invested in the company in 2005. As a result, Comviva was able to grow its revenues 20-fold in a 7 year period. In 2008, Sanjiv took on strategic responsibilities as Vice Chairman of the organization and in 2009, Sanjiv exited the company to establish Saarthi Enterprises, a mentoring and consultancy

Krishnakumar also helped architect Wipro’s entry into leading-edge financial institutions such as American Express and Goldman Sachs. While serving as Group Vice President of human resources, Krishnakumar increased the number of employees in Wipro’s software services business from 800 to 4,000 people in a short time.

As part of the Leadership Team, Vinod was involved in many organization wide initiatives, including development of innovative people practices which defined the culture of the company making it one of the best employers in the country.

Before Hughes Software Systems, Vinod was associated with Centre of Development of Telematics (C-DoT) for 7 years, where he made significant contribution to the overall design, development and deployment of digital telephone switching technologies. He has also worked with Siemens as a Project engineer for about a year.

Vinod is the member of Advisory Committee of the Institute of Informatics and

Communications, University of Delhi. He is also the Chairman of RMC-CORE in Network Engineering (setup by TIFAC, Dept of Science and Technology Govt of India, a Government, Academia and Industry partnership initiative). Vinod additionally serves on the Technical and Advisory committees of various industry/trade forums.

Vinod has completed his Engineering from Punjab Engineering College Chandigarh finishing with the coveted Panjab University and Institution of Engineers Gold Medals.
