Make beauty therapy or hairdressing your career Students will gain essential theory and practical experience during scheduled salon days and other promotional events held throughout the programme. PROGRAMME INFORMATION > Hairdressing students will learn skills to analyse the hair and scalp, shampoo, blow-drying, applying colour (highlights and foils), conditioning treatments and hair-ups. Learn to provide professional consultation to clients. > Product knowledge students learn how to display, sell and maintain professional hairdressing products in a salon/clinic environment. > Health & safety students will be trained by an industry professional and receive an industry recognised certificate in first aid procedures. > Make-up artistry students will gain a thorough understanding of make- up applications including day or night, wedding and period makeup. > Nutrition students will gain a thorough understanding of healthy eating and food combination and be able to explain nutrition principles for beauty services. > History of cosmetics study students will learn the history and theory of cosmetic and alternative therapies. > Salon skills students will gain experience providing quality customer service in a salon environment including welcoming clients, daily workflow procedures, telephone skills, booking appointments and reception duties. > Salon days students will gain extensive practical experience with a range of clients, during professional salon days, which are held regularly throughout the duration of this programme. FURTHER STUDY OPTIONS Graduates of this programme may wish to study towards the Certificate in Beauty Therapy. CAREER OPPORTUNITIES Graduates will have the knowledge and skills to work as a cosmetic company representative, hairdressing apprentice, make-up artist, cosmetic retail assistant or sales assistant.
