Your Mind Journey Toward Hope - Part 7

Romans 12:1-2 Tim Wilder, Pastor

05/21/2017 Evening Worship Three daily choices for a healthy mind: 1. I must feed my mind with Truth “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” Matthew 4:4

2. I must free my mind from destructive thoughts Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. Romans 8:5 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5

3. I must focus on the right things

a) Think about jesus _

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2

b) Think about Others

Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Philippians 2:4

c) Think about eternity

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Colossians 3:2 However, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him… “ 1 Corinthians 2:9
