Securing a CR With a Pre-Crash Locking Latchplate •Determine latchplate type•Place belt through correct CR belt path and buckle

•Apply weight in CR and pull webbing at the belt path to tighten lap belt

•Check for tight installation

Automatic Locking Retractors (ALR)

•Can be found in: ▪Lap belt only or▪Lap/shoulder belt

•Test if you have an ALR•Pull the webbing out slowly and gently•See if once you stop, the seat belt can only get shorter

How to Install a CR With an ALR Retractor •Pull webbing fully out of retractor and HOLD

•Place belt through correct CR belt path and buckle

•Apply weight on seat and let go of extra webbing

•Help put extra webbing back into the retractor

•Check for tight installation

switch to ALR▪ Note that some have a

button to switch to ALR

Installing a CR With a Switchable Retractor •Route belt through correct CR belt path and buckle

•Gently pull webbing all the way out of retractor and test gently

•Apply weight on seat•Tighten the seat belt•Feed extra webbing back onto the retractor•Check for tight installation at CR belt path
