    Career Opportunities in Business

    Meaning

    Career is the progress and actions taken by a person throughout a lifetime, especially those related

    to that person's occupations. A career is often composed of the jobs held, titles earned and work

    accomplished over a long period of time, rather than just referring to one position.

    While employees in some cultures and economies stay with one job during their career, there is an

    increasing trend to employees changing jobs more frequently.

    For example, an individual's career could involve being a lawyer, though the individual could work

    for several different firms and in several different areas of law over a lifetime.

    Career Opportunities in Business

    a) Starting a small scale Industry Small-scale business has its special identification among the society. Very densely populated countries have a major problem to be faced, that is none other

    than unemployment.

    However, people can start their own business rather than waiting for a job. Small-scale business does not need much of money and much of labor. Small investment

    and considerably profit is the ultimate goal of the small-scale business.

    b) Foreign Trade There are many products which can be exported to other countries and need to import

    some commodities.

    This sector can provide employment to youngsters. They can engage in many activities such as export-import management, documentation,

    securing orders, transportation, indenting, clearing and forwarding activities

    c) Marketing Marketing involves goods reaching consumers. There are a series of useful activities where youngsters can apply for a job in. These are transportation, wholesale trading, retail trading, personal selling, logistics etc

    d) Business Finance There are many financial agencies that provide finance to various institutions. Youngsters can work as banking personnel, management personnel, admin, financial

    analysts, stock brokers, sub brokers, underwriters etc

    e) Transport Transport is a vital aspect of the commercial activity of a nation. This activity needs the services of qualified, trained personnel for transporting materials,

    maintenance, fleet operations, booking agents etc

    f) Insurance Businesses and individuals regularly apply for insurance to cover risk. In all these companies offering this service, youngsters can find employment as

    insurance agents, admin personnel etc

    g) Electronic Media Youngsters can make a career in any of the following: DTP Digital Studios STD and ISD Call Centers BPOs Data Entry Operators Programmers Advertising and media professionals
