Some Background Facts……• From April 2017, government introduced an apprenticeship
levy on all companies which have a wage bill of £3m or more
• Companies will pay 0.5% of their paybill into a fund
• This fund will double the amount spent on apprenticeship training
• Brexit – This is already having an impact on number of EU nationals wanting to remain here. There will be gaps! Not least in the NHS.
• Likely to be more apprenticeships to plug skills gaps

Levels of apprenticeships
Intermediate - equivalent to 5 GCSE passes (Level 2)
Advanced - equivalent to 2 A level passes (Level 3)
Higher - can lead to NVQ Level 4 and above, or a
foundation degree (Level 4 +)
Degree - Plus - Degree Apprenticeships currently on
offer including:aerospace engineering; aerospace software development;
automotive engineering; construction; defence; digital industries; electronic systems engineering; facilities management; financial
services; food science; legal; life and industrial sciences;
management, nuclear; power engineering; public relations;
supply chain management, surveying.
