CHC33015 Cerficate III in Individual Support Our Cerficate III in Individual Support has been designed to suit 3 different streams of Individual support; Ageing, Home and Community care (HACC) and Disability. There are 3 addional units of competency for Disability, that allows students to obtain the 3 streams, thus increasing employability. There is no extra cost to complete these units and students do not have to complete them if they do not want to. To achieve this qualificaon, the candidate must have completed at least 150 hours of placement. Students are required to find their own placement. We have arrangements in place with an industry partner, placement will be available for students who meet the placement criteria. Fees & Funding The course fees and costs depend on your eligibility for a Government subsidy, with funds made available by the Skills First Government. Duraon, Delivery & Assessment The course is delivered over 25 face-to-face sessions, 1 x 4 hour class per week (Saturday classes available), with 4 classes held in Collingwood, for praccal skills demonstraon plus 5-10 hours of self paced learning per week. There are 16 assessments and you will be assessed via wrien quesons, oral quesons, observaons during simulaons/role plays and when in the workplace on placement. You will learn praccal skills in a simulated aged care environment, including manual handling, personal care, prior to commencing praccal placement. We may assist in finding praccal placement but encourage you to find your own praccal placement. The average duraon of the course is 12months but this can differ based on you. Qualificaon Entry Requirements There are no formal prerequisites. However, it is recognised that parcipants in the course should have literacy and numeracy competencies equivalent to the Australian Core Skills Framework Level 3. Students must be over 18 and have a current police check valid in the last 6 months. In order to undertake praccal placement some employers may wish for students/ employees to hold their First aid cerficates and/or Food Handlers cerficates. MCFE can provide these, however, the Food Handlers will be at an addional cost. Placements may be on weekends and late in the evenings, students will need to have flexible availability in order to undertake placement. Individual Support

Our Certificate III in Individual Support has been designed to suit 3 different streams of Individual support;

Ageing,

Pathways

After completing this qualification you may go on to complete a certificate IV in Ageing or Community services. We can refer you to suitable organisations that offer these courses.

Traineeships If you are employed by an Aged Care provider you may be eligible for a Traineeship. Your employer may be able to access funding to cover the costs of your training whilst you are working in the industry. Eligibility and conditions apply — contact any Apprenticeship Centre for more information. Apprenticeships and Traineeships combine both on- and off-the-job training and skills application.

International Students This course is available to international students with valid study rights. You must be 18 years old, hold at least a year 10 equivalent of studies, and an IELTS overall score of 5.5 or above. Please refer to our website for more information.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

You can ask for your relevant existing skills, qualifications and experience to be taken into account when your level of competency is being

assessed. There will be a cost associated — refer to the statement of fees and charges.

Credit Transfer (CT)

If you have previously completed a unit with the same unit code as in your new course you will be eligible for a credit transfer and you will not

have to repeat that unit. There is no cost associated with this process, but you will need to complete a credit transfer application.

Support services

If you need support with your progress through your course or other personal issues we have a student services officer who can help you or

direct you to the most appropriate external service. Call 1300 36 883 and ask for the Student Services Officer or make an appointment to come

see us in person. If needed you may be able to get extra help from trainer (there may be additional cost). We can also direct you to specialist

agencies to help develop language literacy and numeracy (EAL courses). We can also direct you to agencies who can help you with personal

answers to many personal questions you may have.
