CHI OMEGA
Harper McGee a Junior at Baylor University (Theta Kappa) majoring in Finance interned with The Center this summer. Harper worked with Pursuit, a 3,500 mile bike ride Capitol Campaign fundraiser benefiting The Center. Chi Omega Kaleidoscope has pledged a $50,000 donation towards the $13.5 million goal of Pursuit.

Chi Omega’s from across the nation gathered in Orlando for three days in June for the 2016 Convention. Many new friendships were formed as well as rekindling old ones.

Chi O actives from universities nationwide joined members of the Chi Omega Houston Recruitment Board for a fun dinner and information exchange one evening in July. They made Spirit Support baskets for the actives' use during recruitment workshops as they prepare to welcome new members to our sisterhood during 2016-17 recruitment. Membership renewal for the Chi Omega Alumnae Association of Houston is currently available on-line.
Your membership dues show support for Chi Omega locally and nationally as well as its future wellbeing. You will receive notices for all of our events from Fall Coffee, to Happy Hours, to General Programming, to Chow Omega, to Night Owls to Volunteer Opportunities and our NEW Mom & Tot group, along with the members
only Holiday Tea.
We have created a NEW membership level this year, Owl Pal for those members who are under 30 years of age. Owl Pal members are eligible for a limited number of discounted tickets to Boots & Bling, a fundraiser for Chi
Omega Kaleidoscope, along with discounted tickets to Eleusinian.

Please join us Tuesday, October 25 or Wednesday, October 26 at Hearts & Hands Market. Chi Omega Alumnae volunteers will be hosting the Gingersnaps, ETC. booth at the market, hosted annually
at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church in west Houston.
No prior experience necessary and lots of sisterhood, laughter and support for our alumnae’s long-term philanthropy. Delicious gingersnaps and cheese snaps will be offered. Seeking two volunteers for each
of the four-hour shifts. We also welcome volunteers to split a shift with another alumna, should that timeline work better for you.
Hours are 8:45 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday and 8:45 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Setup assistance would also be appreciated from 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. on Monday,

Erin Chambers Packwood (Psi Zeta) generous $25,000 matching gift challenge at The Owl Tree during the 2016 Chi Omega Convention in support of the Chi Omega Foundation. Barbe Boland Bozeman’s (Omicron) daughter Lizzy Bozeman (Xi Kappa GH) gave the Convocation at the final dinner of the 2016 Chi Omega Convention. Drue Terry DaSilva (Psi Zeta) is now a Realtor with Keller Williams. Drue is specializing in Central Houston. Melinda Jones Little (Psi Zeta) is now the Director of Government Affairs at Comcast Corporation. Katie Burdine (Iota) married Christopher Gow this summer, they reside in Amherst, Massachusets. Katie is the daughter of Linda Bush Burdine (Epsilon Delta). Carrie Ramsey Williams (Iota) welcomed grandson Greyson in August. Dr. Stan Fischer, husband of Marie Freeman Fischer (Xi), father of Suzanne Fischer Wendorf (Xi Kappa) and Dr. Marie Fischer Maurice (Xi Kappa). Dr. Stan Fischer has three more Chi Omega daughters not residing in Houston along with 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

The Psi Zetas are also looking for assistance with their Make-A-Wish fundraiser in October. They have a goal of raising $15,000 for
Make-A-Wish and will have a silent auction with a Gift Card tree. Please consider donating a gift card to add to their tree. If you work
for a business that has something to donate or you have access to tickets to a sporting event, please email

The chapter exceeded the recommended GPA requirement set
by Nationals with a 3.05. More than half of the chapter made over a 3.0 and four sisters received a 4.0!
Recruitment is September 8th-12th.
