Freshmen Yeara. Initiate contact with top 10 to 20 schools (Division 1,
2, 3 and NAIA)- Go to Collegeboard.com and NCAA websites www.ncaa.com to search for colleges. See rankings attached.
b. Maintain a minimum of a 2.5 to 3.0 GPA. The higher it is, the more colleges you’ll qualify for.
c. Create a profile sheet or ‘resume’ outlining accomplishment, clubs, stats from Nike National Player Profile and email to college coaches

• Narrow down college search to top 10 schools
• Maintain good grades!!!!!
• Go to all Magic practices and games – communicate with coaches or team managers if an emergency occurs when you can’t make practice
• Update resume/profile sheet
Sophomore Year continued
• Go to a soccer camp or two of schools you’ve contacted
• Make a 2 to 3 minute highlight tape. Post on Youtube and let the college coaches know how to locate it, or send a DVD directly to college coaches
• Invite coaches to tournaments or games you’ll be playing at. Let them know your schedule and jersey number
• Register with the NCAA Clearing House – you’ll need an unofficial transcript (http://web1.ncaa.org/eligibilitycenter/common/)

NCAA Clearinghouse Course Requirements
• D1 and D2 Requirements – go over your 4 year plan with your school counselor
• See handout
Junior Year
• Repeat all of what was stated for your Sophomore year
• Study for the ACT!!!
• Check the required ACT scores for the schools you’re interested in
**Athletes often have the benefit of Super-scoring
* Take ACT 1 to 3 times
* Start visiting your top schools!!!
Senior Year• Update your profile/resume• Narrow down to top 5 school – at least one D2 and one D3 school• Take ACT / SAT more times if necessary• On January 1st fill out the FAFSA• Look for outside scholarships

• Apply to schools– Let the admissions office know at each school if you have any
