Teachers are implementing end of year assessments in preparation for Student Report Writing. Office staff are completing a variety of administrative processes for the end of year close of business and preparing for the transition into a new school year. Likewise, Mr Sevior, Leadership staff, Mrs Street and I are planning for the 2014 school year. This will help our school enormously in planning for staffing, grade placements and most importantly budget forecasts. NO PARKING We ask all members of our school community to avoid parking in front of the big blue skip bin. We have been informed that the rubbish truck will not enter our school grounds if a car is stopped in front of the skip bin. Even if a person is just ‘dropping off’ a child, the car is blocking the access to the bin. As a result, last week we missed out on having our bin emptied. This then leads to the skip bin overflowing, rubbish building up and we all know what health issues that can cause. Once again, all parents are reminded to avoid using the staff car park, in particular the space directly in front of the skip bin, to drop off your child. This applies at all times, whether it is for Before/After School Care or during the school day. The rubbish truck can arrive at any time and if you are blocking its access, we do not get our bin emptied. Christmas Raffle Our Christmas raffle will take place once again in 2013. We would really appreciate any donations to the school that we could use to place in hampers for prizes. We have already had books, towels, a swivel chair and some stationary donated to the school and we would really appreciate parents donating items such as food, toys or Christmas decorations. All donations can be dropped in the office area. The raffle tickets will be sent home with students next week. 2014 Prep Enrolment We continue to provide Prep tours for prospective parents for 2014! If parents have a younger child starting at our school next year, we kindly ask that they come to the office as soon as possible and fill out an enrolment form. In the past two years we have been able to cater for five Prep classes. Due to various limitations, we cannot guarantee this in 2014. So please get your enrolment form completed ASAP for your own piece of mind. If you know of family or friends who are looking to enrol their children at our school next year we ask that they call the office to arrange a tour and interview promptly to avoid any possibility of disappointment. New Building Works You will have noticed by now the buildings our school purchased and had installed over the holidays. We currently have various tradesmen working at restoring them in preparation for next year. Dear Parents,

As you are aware Term 4 is a very busy time for all

staff across our school. Teachers are implementing end

of year assessments in preparation for Student Report

Writing. Office staff are completing a variety of

administrative processes for the end of year close of

business and preparing for the transition into a new

school year. Likewise, Mr Sevior, Leadership staff,

Mrs Street and I are planning for the 2014 school year.

Therefore, we ask any families intending to leave our

school, to please notify the office staff in writing as

soon as possible. This will help our school enormously

in planning for staffing, grade placements and most

importantly budget forecasts.

NO PARKING

We ask all members of our school community to avoid

parking in front of the big blue skip bin. We have

been informed that the rubbish truck will not enter our

school grounds if a car is stopped in front of the skip

bin. Even if a person is just ‘dropping off’ a child, the

car is blocking the access to the bin. As a result, last

week we missed out on having our bin emptied. This

then leads to the skip bin overflowing, rubbish building

up and we all know what health issues that can cause.

Once again, all parents are reminded to avoid using the

staff car park, in particular the space directly in front of

the skip bin, to drop off your child. This applies at all

times, whether it is for Before/After School Care or

during the school day. The rubbish truck can arrive at

any time and if you are blocking its access, we do not

get our bin emptied.

Christmas Raffle

Our Christmas raffle will take place once again in

2013. We would really appreciate any donations to the

school that we could use to place in hampers for prizes.

We have already had books, towels, a swivel chair and

some stationary donated to the school and we would

really appreciate parents donating items such as food,

toys or Christmas decorations. All donations can be

dropped in the office area. The raffle tickets will be

sent home with students next week.

2014 Prep Enrolment

We continue to provide Prep tours for prospective

parents for 2014!

If parents have a younger child starting at our school

next year, we kindly ask that they come to the office as

soon as possible and fill out an enrolment form.

In the past two years we have been able to cater for five

Prep classes. Due to various limitations, we cannot

guarantee this in 2014. So please get your enrolment

form completed ASAP for your own piece of mind.

If you know of family or friends who are looking to

enrol their children at our school next year we ask that

they call the office to arrange a tour and interview

promptly to avoid any possibility of disappointment.

New Building Works

You will have noticed by now the buildings our school

purchased and had installed over the holidays. We

currently have various tradesmen working at restoring

them in preparation for next year.

Lai Taekwon-Do Taylors Lakes

On Saturday the 21st of September 2013, four members of the Taylor’s lakes Taekwon-Do club and also the instructors participated in Victorian State Championships hosted by AAITF (All Australia International Taekwon-Do Federation) at the St Alban’s Secondary College Gymnasium. Eager for their next competition, Tristan and Mehul full of energy and enthusiasm to represent Taylors Lakes once again. Joining them in the ranks are Aashiya and Angelo as first time competitors. For both Aashiya and Angelo, they were quite shy, but with the support of the families, instructors and coaches they performed incredibly well in both sparring (simulated combat using correct technique) and patterns (performing set choreographed moves from memory). Tristan Marinelli secured 2nd place for patterns and a heroic 3rd place for sparring, Mehul Kothari won 1st place in Patterns, Angelo Abalos triumphed 1st place for both patterns and sparring, Aashiya Nandivada gained 1st place for sparring. The instructor of Taylors Lakes Marc Russo won 2nd place for individual sparring as well as 3rd place for team sparring while assistant instructor Jimmy Nguyen secured 2nd place in patterns. Lai Taekwon-Do would like to thank the parents, coaches and neighbours of the club for their ongoing support.
