Cornwall School Games Swimmers

A huge well done to the children who took part in the Cornwall

School Games swimming qualifier event this week. Although we

didn’t manage to score enough points to go through to the next

round of the event, all of Perranporth’s swimmers gave a truly

fantastic performance. Some of the highlights were; Wilf won 1st

place in the Y5 front crawl, Ruby came 3rd in Y6 front crawl,

Callum came 3rd in Y6 butterfly, Maisie came 2nd in Y5 front crawl and Amy

came 1st in Y5 butterfly! A huge well done to all of the children and a very big

thank you to the parents who helped with transport to and from the event.

School Admissions Policy Consultation

You may remember several weeks ago a letter going home notifying parents about our plans to change our admis-

sions policy. We asked for consultation on a change that would mean children with siblings in the school, would

have a higher priority in the case of oversubscription than those who live closer to the school building. The consulta-

tion period has now ended with no objections to our proposal. The policy changes will now go through our gover-

nors and academy directors to be agreed. This will hopefully mean that the changes will come into effect for the

2018-19 academic year. We’ll keep you posted.
