During our mobile clinic we met Mary Grace Pintor, a 20 years old young lady. She is the 3rd child of the couple who has 15 children located in Sitio Pintor landfill. Mary Grace only reached grade 4 in elementary school and her parents were not able to support her schooling due to the financial constraint. Because of their life situation and her wish to help her family she took an offer to work as a housemaid but she experienced hardship witch made her to decide leaving her employment.

Skills Training a way to transform life

When we met Grace she demonstrated a happy and positive attitude towards life. The staff of Mobile Clinic encouraged her to study and she verbalized that she had the desire to learn more and to be able to have a source of living in order to help her family. She is now one of the Skills Training student under hair dressing. Her instructor supports her by all means and reported that Mary Grace is doing good with her studies. We hope that because of her

determination in life and with God’s help, Mary Grace will become a succefull woman and be able to help her family, who is really in need.

victims of violence that mostly perpetrated by men in their socie-ty and even in their family. Vio-lence affects the person’s life physically, mentally, emotionally, and even sexually.

Thus, the Violence Against Women and their Children seminar aims to impart knowledge and strengthen awareness on the women and chil-dren’s right in the community. The Speaker from Philippines National Police tried to explain and helped them understand about the VAWC also known as RA 9262 and how this law protects them while they are living in community where the safe-ty is not defined. Last February 10, 2017, we have a dialogue with PNP Rodriguez con-cerning Violence Against Women and Children. It was participated by 35 people from different program of CMP in San Isidro. The participants are expected to be empowered by appreciating their roles as respected by the society and realizing their potentials to equal opportunities in all spheres of life.

A Partnership in Skills Training

It was December 16, 2016, as the partnership with Bayan Academy, Center for Community Transformation and Children’s Mission Philippines was forged. The main objective of the cooperation is to be able to equip and train men and women in entrprenuership and skilled them in welding. In the following week a contract was signed for the first training set on January 2 – 27, 2017. The first training was a success with 32 students getting their NationaL Certification II from TESDA last February 28, 2017. Because of this, the Bayan Academy

insist that we should offer the Welding

GMAW for the next training. Without

hesitation and also because we have an

available instructor who is trained in

GMAW – Mr. Edgardo Santos, we heed

to their demand. First week of March

we bought two new equipment for

GMAW and last March 20, 2017, we

started again two courses in Welding –

GMAW with 30 student and SMAW

with 30 student also in the San Isidro

Skills Training Center. Nine of the

students are women. Again this is in

partnership with Bayan Academy, CCT

and CMP. This partnership is proving

to be productive and beneficial to us

all.

herself tells some things about who she is. “My family and friends call

me “Maddie” or “Madz”. I am 24 years old and I like exploring and

learning new things. I am passionate about music, kids and in pursuing

the things God has called me to do. In life, I value my relationships

with people and with God the most. I thank God because He has

blessed me with loving souls around me. Right now, I praise Him for

the wonderful blessing and opportunity that He has given me- to be a

part of Children’s Mission Philippines Hills of Grace Foundation Inc. as
