SO, WHERE DID YOU GO? Now that school is back in session most families are back home and
finished with annual vacations. Some of you may have had the opportunity to make a long and
enjoyable trip somewhere, while others may not have been able to take that trip due to various
circumstances.
What would you consider your dream trip to be, or what we might call the trip of a lifetime? Are
you thinking about a trip to the coast, or a well-known theme park, or even to a place that no one else
might even think about? Sometimes those dreams seem impossible and we think that they will never
happen. But you never know, maybe that dream will someday come true.
For the Christian, perhaps our dream trip is going to heaven…someday. Sunday’s sermon will deal
with that very thing as we take a look at Elijah’s trip to heaven. It was unlike any other and was a
result of his faithfulness to God. “The Trip of a Lifetime” from 2 Kings 2:9-12 will be our theme as we
see how much God loves and blesses us daily. Join with us as we worship together as a Church family.
We need each of you.
Blessings to you all…Gary B

IMPORTANT DATE! There will be an informational meeting on the Alternative New Building Plan

2 Kings 2:9-12 (NIV)
When they had crossed, Elijah said to Elisha, "Tell me, what
can I do for you before I am taken from you?" "Let me inherit
a double portion of your spirit," Elisha replied. "You have
asked a difficult thing," Elijah said, "yet if you see me when I
am taken from you, it will be yours--otherwise not." As they
were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot
of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of
them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind. Elisha saw
this and cried out, "My father! My father! The chariots and
horsemen of Israel!" And Elisha saw him no more. Then he
took hold of his own clothes and tore them apart.

The Christian Woodworkers meet in Darwin Hamilton’s workshop most
Monday afternoons from 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. They cut out small wood
craft items in which they take to Children’s Mercy in Kansas City, MO. The
children can paint them or do what they wish with them. They have made
many wood craft items this past year and have made 4 trips to Children’s
Mercy with the finished products. The volunteer coordinator was very
pleased and appreciative of all the donated items. The men would like to
invite others to join them with this mission project. If interested or have any
questions, please call Darwin @ 785.448.6526 or Ron @ 785.204.1590.

Dewey, OK. She taught at a Christian School in Puerto Rico for two years after graduating from Ozark
Christian College. She and her husband, Ralph, now serve with Literature and Teaching Ministries in
Joplin, Missouri which is a ministry that supplies Christian literature in other languages. This enables
pastors and missionaries in other countries to win others to Christ and also help them grow in their
faith. We know that you will leave our ladies’ retreat blessed after getting acquainted with Cindy and
listening to her as she speaks to us on “Be Thou My Vision”.

Decision for Christ…
What a witness and testimony…a father and 2 sons came together Sunday following the 10:30 a.m.
Worship Services where Russ Peterson baptized his dad, Burt Peterson, then Burt baptized his youngest
son Eli. Out with the old and born with the new! What a witness. We are rejoicing because we had 2
baptisms. Burt and Eli Peterson went forward on Sunday, August 23, 2015 and confessed their desires
to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and to be baptized for the forgiveness of their sins. Praise
God for them and their decision and please pray for Burt and Eli as they begin their daily walk with the
Lord.
Burt and Eli’s address is : 27687 North Hwy. 59 ~ Garnett, KS 66032
